  1. Just curious as I don't even know how I feel, if given a choice, would you take someone who did really well at the D2 level, or would you rather have someone who was at a higher level and wanting to play more?
  2. It's their spring break, so I wouldn't expect too much this week. Next week might be different though.
  3. After last year, I did the math and it was something like 43% turnover within the league
  4. Great write-up. I think you're pretty close. I agree with the most of what you said. I believe Doppler and Erickson will move on to play elsewhere. I also believe Bothun will do the same. In my opinion, that one is the loss. Yes, he started the year 0-15 from 3, but finished the year shooting .333 from 3 and 57% from 3 in the conference games. At 6'9, I think he would help at the 4 spot next year, but i doubt he stays with the limited minutes he saw. As far as the guards, I'd be surprised if Greyson stays. I agree that he should and would do well staying at this level, but he is going to have a lot of folks talking to his agent, and deals will be tossed around. The family had no ties to UND before he arrived. They will be huge supporters where ever he goes. A3 is a wildcard, and has a lot of noise going on just within his family. He is tight with the Curtis twins, and I believe they will look elsewhere as well. Kraft will be here until he runs out of eligibility. Jones will be back. I most likely am the odd man out on my assessment of Jones based on the comments I've read. My opinion, based on stats (which I know, a physical presence isnt measured in stats), he is a complete liability on offense. A D1 team just cant have that. His defense is physical, but that's it. He doesnt rebound well, and doesnt block as many shots as one would expect. The dumb fouls are off the chart, and aggravatin. He stays here because the coaches love it. Guga will be gone. Karson - who knows. He should have never burned the redshirt year. Just my opinion.
  5. 🤣🤣 after scoring 80+ points in the Summit League tournament and being named on the all summit league team, as well as breaking the freshman scoring record at UND, along with the other accolades, I don't think that's what his agent is telling him. But I guess time will tell. Im not sure what your definition of a little bag is, but I think he will have options.
  6. There might be, but here is a picture
  7. If you were not there, you really missed an unreal game and an unreal atmosphere. Guga wearing Loyal's cowboy hat while high fiving fans after the game was awesome! Get to the game tomorrow night! It's going to take everyone tomorrow.
  8. Maybe I don't remember it correctly, but i thought their was pressure on Mal to leave but she said she was staying, and the next day the players all jumped into the portal.
  9. But our team is a family 🤣
  10. I've heard similar from another source on the team. I think you always have to take information like that with a grain of salt. That said, if a team has chemistry issues, and the coaches have lost the team, the result would most likely be very similar to what we just saw. You don't have to believe what you hear, but if what you hear matches what you see, the potential that it's true goes up in my mind. Hutter looked and acted pissed off on the bench most of the season. He was muttering to the refs, players, and anyone around. He looked miserable - but nothing really changed. I'm sure the players had a level of miserable as well. It doesn't make for a tight group.
  11. I think the sentiment is that when a new coach is injected into a program, there comes some success, excitement, and a tangible looking path to more success in the future. Hutter was with the team last year, and should have been able to hit the ground running at least a little bit with the portal and a number of roster spots to fill. What we have seen was a bit of buzz right away, but now after a difficult year and getting blown out in a play-in SLT tournament, we have to hang our hopes that he can get better players with the current status. Then he needs to actually put some Xs and Ox together instead of pass, pass, huck up a 3. He will need to do a better job of coaching. I really hope he does it, but I haven't seen anything this year to prove he can do it next year - time will tell though.
  12. Heh... the coaching post was shared because we had a few posters who seemed to be serious that Sather should get the Coach of the year, I even think something was mentioned about it being "obvious". I think everyone here is happy for Eli and Greyson, and believe they deserve the recognition.
  13. Wait... I thought Sather was going to be coach of the year?
  14. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes. The actual portal doesn't open until April 7th I believe, but I assume that won't stop players from announcing. With the tournament this coming weekend, I would imagine we may see something next week - but I think that is actually spring break week, so many of the players will go home and think about it. I would also assume or hope the coaches have some end of year meetings set up along with off season workouts starting March 16th. That may be the week we officially find out. The portal is only open for 3 weeks this year, so the jumping in period should be fairly quick.
  15. Isn't his fault? It may not be the only reason, but there is definitely some responsibility there. Talk to some of the players, you may be surprised on what you hear.
  16. Of course beating the rabbits in their backyard would be kind of fun.
  17. It sure would be nice not to have to play the rabbits in their home town. Even though they are down this year, the Sanford Center sure holds a LOT of blue and yellow vs green.
  18. We seem to need a good big every year, but it doesn't happen.
  19. Wilkinson is a load. He's going to be tough for our bigs to handle
  20. I'm happy for King, Thomas, and Anderson. Seniors got to win their last game at the Betty. It wasn't pretty, but it is a win.
  21. That is on the coaches - not the players. I don't think any of the players came to UND to milk an education - they could have gotten that at a D2 school. They all want to play - trust me.
  22. One thing to point out with this - The Bismarck guys, and you could throw Bothun in with this, were all convinced by the staff to come to UND. They were all told they would most likely get no time or redshirted their freshmen year, and the year after may be limited as well. The talk was by year 3, they will be a contributor if they work hard. This is now year 3, and they get no time. I haven't heard that they are not trying or working hard, but unfortunately for them, they are in a rough spot as well. They are not happy about the situation either. They have now spent 3 years here, and have nothing to show. They were told they were D1 players by the staff, and now they have little choice as to enter the portal and hope for the best. These are good kids that are in a crappy situation that they didn't want to be in. If they go, I wish them the best of luck as they got stuck on the wrong side in the business of college sports.
  23. With a Sather extension I would bet the following: Gone due to out of eligibility: Thomas, King, Anderson Gone because they want to play: Doppler, Erickson, Bothun, and possibly Ouse Heavily consider leaving for whatever reason: Curtis Twins, Guga Could go either way: A3, Uelmen Stays: Kraft, Jones, Delorme Incoming: Moore, Evanson, Hanson Just my opinion
