  1. What does Mike Sherman have to do with this?
  2. I just wanted to express my surprise and, to a certain extent, outrage, that the NCAA continues to not rule in your favor. Best of luck to UND as the fight continues (I assume, at least, that it will continue).
  3. If Paukovich is allowed to play tomorrow night, I will root for whoever Denver is playing. And, yes, I'm saying I would root for the Gophers if that's the matchup. I have no respect for that kind of hockey, and I have no respect for a coach or program that condones that kind of hockey. If the WCHA and its incompetent band of officials doesn't want to do anything about it, Gwozdecky had better do it himself. It'll send a message to the rest of the league that the league itself is incapable of dealing with stuff like this, but that Gwozdecky himself isn't afraid to step in when necessary and discipline his players. Normally, I'd leave you guys alone on your own board (that's why I've posted here like once before), but I wanted to come in and send my best wishes to Bina, and let you all know that I'm behind you in your disgust toward Don Adam.
  4. Perfect. It seems to me that SOME (read: not all, just a few) UND fans think that some coaching legend is going to apply, and it would be impossible NOT to hire him. Sorry, guys. As Rick Pitino would probably say, Scotty Bowman is not walking through that door.
  5. 1. Who wouldn't have preferred Sandelin? Maybe there was reason to believe Sandelin wouldn't have accepted. It's not like Blais and Sandelin never talked after he left UND for Duluth. 2. Someone else said it: If UND loses a recruit in those two months because they're busy looking for a new coach, nobody would let them forget it. Because the need for depth in this day and age is so great, and the competition for top players is unbelieveable compared to 15 years ago, you can't afford to miss out on two months of recruiting. If UND is asleep at the wheel, they might very well lose major players to league rivals.
  6. I have a serious question. I am not trying to flame or anything like that. What is the difference if Mr. Thomas formally opens a national search, and if he looks at the people who would probably apply if there was a national search (Sandelin, Johnson, Eades, etc.) without formally having one? If he knows that either he'd hire Hakstol over Sandelin, Johnson, Eades, or anyone else (or if he has reason to believe any of the aforementioned would turn down the job if it was offered to them), why bother waiting and potentially jeopardize recruiting?
  7. We'll trade him to you for Bochenski, J. Parise, and a recruit to be named later.
