Isaac can have aspirations. Everyone should. I am not trying to fan flames, he has a family to take care of. But the 6 pass plays from the 1 we all remember, going for failed home run deep balls on fourth and one, and for whatever reason failing to consistently establish the short to intermediate passing game, my observation from the Lazy Boy is he has plenty of ground to plow at this level. I do hope he retains his job, but Schmidt has been to the Show and I wonder what he is thinking in terms of OC.

Yea - that bugged me a lot he said the strength is in the herd. Chalking it up to an honest mistake. I am sure he has worked w the string of NDSU QB’s in Florida. But I thought he brought a lot of passion to the pump up speech (which is what I asked for) and I didn’t have the heart to ask him to redo it. We get a chance to Own the Farm in 2 weeks - and we won’t be nice landlords - ha

IMO. - Isaac has been calling. a MUCH better game - great to see Romfo has just been doing a great job

Sather coaches the H out of these kids. He is an excellent coach. m He takes these groups and gets the most out of them. NIL is a death nail for mid-majors. Anyone good is gone. 400k for Ianacho, and the list goes on. And his staff works their ass off. They find good players to enjoy for a year or two. Any change would be a huge chance of a down grade. Again - we need to get our checkbooks out.

Schmidt was the right man. Experience. The UND connection is important to our program, but the UND connection was also important because it was the link to get him. How many current FBS coordinstors applied??? Guessing 1. Eric Schmidt. Coached in the FBS National Championship game last year. With Kaylen Deboer. He has had a view from the top of the next level up. When Bohl got the State School of Fertilzers and Herbicides rocking when the campus still looked like an Army base without a fence around it - he had connections that brought in FBS assistants like WR coaches from UCLA. Former players at SU said that was huge. This gives us a chance to have that FBS pipeline of coaches and portal players. If Eric is a Stiegelmeir and makes it a career and brings us to national prominence, awesome. If he gets hot and goes on to make millions, even better. And none of this happens without the good job Bubba did getting this all going, making the playoffs several times, making us a consistent top 25 program, and winning 2 conference titles. Cant and wont convince me otherwise. And all of the haters on here were free to submit their resume at any time during this search or Bubbas tenure. Thought so.
