While I don’t disagree with you that the money will keep being there, it gets hard for schools to keep asking for money when the product isn’t what fans are looking for. Talked with a P5 assistant AD that their basketball team had a “down” year this year and he said “I’m having to ask donors to double their donations for next year. It’s extremely hard to get people to give more money when the wins aren’t there this year. It’s currently not sustainable.”

Yep, this is actually a huge recruiting advantage for Sather if he will embrace it. Show kids the track record of helping them perform well and then go get paid. There’s nothing wrong with that and isn’t this doom and gloom situation a lot of people are trying to make it out to be.
