I thought Treyson  had some good minutes, he will only improve with practice and playing  time.

Sueker is good, not sure why you are ragging on these two

Because they are both bad players.

They both are bad rebounders. Bad defensive players. And if they are not scoring, they kill the team.. That's why.

Sloppy win last night but starting the season off 1-0 and with a road win is always a good thing. Defense was really fun to watch. We have a TON of good wing defenders and lots of length. Offense was shaky to say the least. They were pressuring a ton and got us out of a rhythm the whole game. Omot is going to continue to develop into that player that when we need a bucket just give him the ball and get out of the way. You could already see that last night when it would get late shot clock and at the end of the game.

Starting lineup should be Trent, Brooks, Omot, Sueker, TT. Then have Treysen get good minutes off the bench. He can sub in for Sueker. Mathews as the 5 man sub. And then sprinkle in Nero and I guess Norman as needed. If Norman doesn't hit his first shot or two just get him out of there. Doesn't do much else to help the team. It's tough but our young guys give us the best shot at winning as we move forward. They are long, athletic, can play and guard multiple positions, and bring a different energy to the team. I'm excited to continue to watch them improve.

Norman had 14 points and 5 reb. Other than the two late TO's... which were almost catastrophic... he played a good game. He brings more to the table than Nero, and it's not close.

  3. Great win tonight.

    best lineup is :

    trent, bj, brooks, Norman, T.

Norman had two really bad to’s late but was good until that point. He will be just fine.

By the end of the year Treysen will zap #0’s minutes and we won’t have to watch him anymore- him and sueker are a total liability on both ends, especially defensive.

As a senior, so last year, Brooks shot 2.39 threes per game and made 33% of them. I understand this is college so it is harder to shoot than high school, but even if he can shoot 2 to 3 a game and make 33% of them it at least keeps the defense honest and opens up so many things for him and the team. Your starting shooting guard needs to be willing to shoot the 3 ball. To say he should only be a slasher is absurd. He is a capable low volume jump shooter.

I guess we will see.. I hope you are right.

I think the shooting from 3 may take a while to really pick up. Brooks needs to be willing to shoot it more from 3. Omot can shoot it but isn't a great 3 point shooter. Trent is the same way. Most of our guards can shoot it but none are true knockdown shooters. I think as the season moves on they will get more comfortable shooting the 3 and it will improve.

I don't think we want Brooks to be a willing shooter- he is not a shooter as that is not part of his game... He is a driver/slasher, hopefully he can fill the stat sheet and average about 8-10 pts 6 reb 2 steals 4 assists and shoot a high percentage. IMO that would be a success for him

Lack of height is going to be downfall this year.  NDSU is loaded with height this year and I think they jumped ahead us.  Kacie didnt look like she was looking for her shot. She needs to be the focal point of our offense.   Hurst had a good game on the offensive end, but is going to be a big liability on the defensive side.  She looked winded and saved her energy for the offensive side only.  I looked at the Northern State roster and they beat us with kids almost all from South Dakota and a few Minnesota kids.  We scour the U.S to give out scholarships and the ones in our backyard are forgotten.   I was looking forward to the womens season but last nights game was not even fun to watch.

I would argue that kids from SD would rather go play at NSU than UND.... Plus UND is basically recruiting Michigan and that's it.. for the most part.

Bruns just wanted to go home

other players think they are way better than they are, same with football

anymore you take the years you can get out of a player, if they want to leave let them go

    its the same with employees

    not much loyalty anymore

You hit the nail on the head.

Kid is from 15 miles away from USD... after 1 year they wanted him, so he went there. Because if they wanted him his senior year of HS, UND wouldn't have gotten him.

In college basketball right now, you are building one year rosters, at all levels. UND has a chance to erase last year by having a better year this year....and at the end of this year, players will leave and they will try to build another team next year... welcome to the real world of new college basketball... fun

If we can establish some consistency on the road, then I'll be more optimistic about the future. Until then, I will remain skeptical.

Your me right.. winning on the road is super easy… everyone does it all the time.

We just beat the number 7 team in FCS by two scores…

im not for firing bubba, but i honestly would like to see someone different at some point, just to see all of you say the same things about the new guy.

bubba does a great job with the program. Let’s let him play it out.

Congrats on the win. You whipped our tails today in all phases of the game.

Going for it on 4th down, up 3 scores with less than 5 minutes and throwing to the endzone is completely classless. I saw some posts suggesting dirty play from Missouri State but this is the most bush league thing that has happened today. I am not saying you don't deserve the win so don't misinterpret my words but Matt Entz would have kicked a field goal. Stieg would have kicked the field or ran it right up the middle.

Lol. Don’t let them score then. Bye

    Permanent?  I hope so.

They used the same verbiage for the Betty as they used for the re-imagined end seating at the Alerus.  We certain they aren't replacing the risers with a drink rail and a black curtain to block the view?

I believe the practice court will be an addition to the building where the small parking lot is located on the north side.

All this talk of fundraising and the biggest pot should go to NIL.

That is the key going forward in my opinion.

I disagree.. what irks me about NIL is that athletes were whining for years... "i want to get paid for my likeness.. blah blah blah"

Then, the NCAA allows it to happen...."Ok go make money off yourself."

Now instead of the athlete going out and setting it all up and actually earning their money, they expect the coaches and booster clubs to set it up for them.... that's not what it was intended for. Just drives me nuts.

Anyone high on eaglestaff or does he need time to develop a little on defense

They were one of the worst defensive teams in the country last year.... so I don't think he will be alone in needing to develop on defense. Our two oldest players, Nero and Sueker are our two worst defensive players. Jalun Trent should help us on that end.

IMO, Treysen has a chance to be special offensively.

I'll answer this a few different ways

    Impact from returners: Sueker

    Impact from newbies: Trent

    Biggest improvement: Mathews

I hope you are all right about Sueker, I'm not as high on him.

Makes no sense for gophers to play us does it

    Not @UND.

I'm just pointing out that UND will probably never play a non league or exhibition against MSUM, Bemidji, Northern, Minot, Mary, Crookston, or any other NSIC team again..

So you might as well get over that or you are just going to be whining about the same thing every year.
