  1. Sioux give up another shorthanded 2 on 1. Need to get your head out boys and start skating!
  2. If the defensemen can't get around him, that's where he needs to take a penalty.
  3. Kaufmann with a shorthanded goal. 1-0
  4. Oshie getting held off the faceoff, falling down with the Gopher behind him, but refs okay with that.
  5. Sioux standing at the blue line allows Kaufman to come in and get a scoring chance. Interference on Minnesota. Let's go Sioux PP!!!
  6. Kind of a stalemate to start off. Gophers get first shot on goal. Looked like Phil lost it for a moment as it deflected wide, but he made the first save.
  7. UNDERWAY!!!!!! GO SIOUX!!!
  8. There isn't one that I'm aware of.
  9. Malone's going to have to skate his butt of to keep up with Trupp and Frattin.
  10. Hakstol's pre-game comments: I think we've played pretty well for a lot of the year, so I don't know if we've played better lately. We've closed games out, done a few things better, our PP has gotten better; we've taken advantage of our opportunities. We still have areas to get better at. Without the puck, we need to get better. In the neutral zone and defensive zone, we need to be more tenacious. Still looking for some changes on the lines, made some again this week, so hopefully we some good things. Minnesota is a pretty good offensive team. They cycle it and possess it as well as any team we've faced. I don't know if we've thought to much about them not scoring goals. Maybe who can possess the puck and bring more pressure in the offensive zone will decide the game, both tonight and tomorrow night. We need to make sure to make life pretty tough for Kangas, get in there and get some rebounds on him. They came in, in December, and they had a strong performance. I've watched a lot of their games and though their record doesn't show it, they've had strong performances all year long. Our juniors and seniors have played in some big games, so they need to put that experience to use, and bring it to the table consistantly down the stretch. The young guys have to go out and bring energy. They're most likely not going to have poise and pressure, and the older guys have to show them the way. I think it's fun to be involved in these games. This building is a great atmosphere. How could you not like playing in this type of game?

  12. Now you know how I feel during the WJC!!!
  13. Parise just put a bone-crushing check on a Ranger! Didn't think he had it in him!!!
  14. I'll be listening to TH on the pregame show, but get the game on satellite.
  15. Hour away from the drop of the puck!!! GO SIOUX!!!
  16. I'd agree with you on that. I don't seem to remember having a lot of balanced scoring on recent teams, unless I go back to the teams of the late 90's. I remember in 2000, telling SoDak Sioux Fan before the championship game that we wouldn't win unless the Goren line showed up. In 2004, we had Parise and Bochenski; then we had DOT. This year, no one individual seems to be dominating the scoring, except for maybe Oshie, which is his talent level coming out. I really like the position that our team is in right now. As long as we avoid games like last week and show up with our best effort every night, we'll be okay!
  17. Exactly. I tried to find it last night, as I was going to do a summary, but couldn't find it online anywhere.
  18. Phil says that the "No Goal" was a result of the guy punching the puck in with his fist.
  19. Hakstol's post-game comments: Phil Stole 2 points for us tonight. I guess things have a way of evening out. The 2nd period was our worst of the year. It is what it is. Not going to get to negative about anything tonight. We've walked away from rinks wondering what we had to do to get a win...tonight, we got one from the opposite perspective. We weren't moving or checking. We played absolutely slow in our own zone. Compound that with selfish penalties...those are mental mistakes. The positive light...we got 2 points and in the 3rd period, we regained composure. It wasn't a great period by any means, but compared to the 2nd. Phil made the save on the PP with 4 or 5 minutes left. On a night like this when 19 guys aren't going, the one guy between the pipes made the difference. It's natural for the other team to feed off our play. I told their coach that if they keep playing like that.... We've been on the other end where we've lost 2 points and for whatever reason, we got the 2 points tonight. There will be some sore bodies. We stood around so much tonight, so no speed was involved, so maybe it won't be that bad. We have to take tomorrow off, and get focused again on Monday. Another weekend in the WCHA next weekend. Most important, we continue to get separation from 4-9 in the league. What happens in the top 3, who knows. We've got all the points we can possibly get now, and they have to come back and win their games (Denver). This games in the garbage can. I'm not going to over analyze it and be too critical, but we'll look at it.
  20. I don't know about that many shots, as UAA plays a trap defense, but to be outplayed like we were is unacceptable.
  21. So much for my "hand raising" theory!
  22. What game did you watch??
  23. Well, we get the sweep, but it was a pretty ugly win for us. Let's forget this one and try to re-focus for those Goophers next week. Hak won't be happy with this performance.
  24. "Ah Sh#%, I lost count!"
  25. Everyone raises there hand when they hear the Player they want to vote for. Okay, I have no idea. They didn't do that when I lived in the Forks.
