Sandy pre-game comments: One of those games where there wasn't a lot of room for guys. Need to make a strong committment to the defensive side. It was a good night, but disappointing when you give up two leads. Good road game for us, get a point,, and an opportunity to get 3 points. Use these last 6 games to get momentum going into the first round of the playoffs. Been more consistent, but we still have areas of improvement that we need. Thought they did a great job in pressuring us on the PP. Didn't get really together on the PP, but they forced that. We tried to do the same thing to them. Funny that both PP units are up towards the top, but both PK units are towards the bottom, and PK shuts both sides down. Didn't get the offensive support that we needed last night. Both goalies made some great saves last night. Josh Johnson back in net tonight. Just want him to give us a chance to win. We'll see a little different North Dakota team tonight. Hopefully Curry injury isn't too serious.

End of Hak pre-game interview: Thought we had 3 or 4 guys who didn't bring enough to the table. Weren't able to roll our 4 lines, and that hurt us energy wise in the 3rd. It's playoff type hockey right now, and they Duluth played that way last night. Nice to see the mental toughness last night from our guys, battling back. Need to generate more opportunities tonight and come with more. Can be better on the PP. Did better in the 2nd on bringing the puck up the ice. Genoway and Lee didn't have great nights last night. They can play better. Vande Velt back in tonight. Took him out to try to get him going more. Had played better earlier in the year, and we need him to play good consistently. Hope we see that tonight.

I agree. A team doesn't have to make it to the Frozen Four to win the award, but the early rounds of the NCAA Playoffs definitely help solidify voter's choices for the award.

IMO, Massen performed well under expectations. He had a decent sophomore season but then he pretty much fell off the map. He had short stints of good play, but nothing that I'd put in the same category as Fabian, McMahon, or Prpich. However, I understand the point you're trying to make Redwing. A player doesn't have to be on the stat sheet regularly to be a good role player, and every contender for a national title needs role players.

PP did nothing tonight. There were 3 fanned shots in the matter of a minute, one by Toews on the doorstep. IMO, Miller played a miserable game tonight. Need more than one line to show to win games. Best player tonight was probably Lammy.

Flippin tie. With all the mental mistakes tonight, they're lucky they got that.
