  1. Sioux wearing form fitting blacks today!!!!!! Go SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Duncan interview with TH: TH: Brought home all the hardward. You were nervous. RD: I was very nervous. Don't like speaking in front of a lot of people. I accepted the award, but the whole team should be up there with me, especially my linemates. There's no way I would be up there without them. I got a couple more points than they did. They could have easily been up there in front of me. TH: How do you come down from this to play hockey? RD: I'm going to have to. This stuff is all bonus. We're here to play hockey though. TH: You made the Hobey Baker Top 10 too. RD: Like I said, that's all bonus. It's a tremendous honor, but I just want to focus on the team now.
  3. Motzko's biggest worry in the pre-game interview was making it through the 1st period. He knows North Dakota will come out flying, and thinks that after the 1st is done, his team will be well into the game. Just made the same comment on FSN.
  4. FSN highlighting the DOT in the boys' names. I'm thinking Woog is going to try to steal AZSioux's name again. Perhaps AZSioux will set him straight this weekend.
  5. Hak Pre-game comments: These two teams know each other very well. Last year, there was an important game between these two teams, about the same time. You can't really control what your opponents do. You have to play your game. It's going to be a good playoff game. You take everything else this time of year, and throw it out. Players are excited to be here. There will be adrenaline and energy. I expect to see it up tempo right from the get go. You never can tell until the drop of the puck. Just have to go out there and play hard. The way we play, I would like to go with no time-outs. Don't know if it changes a lot (the 1 minute time out compared to the 30 second time out) We'll try to use everyone, the depth of the roster, and hope and the end, we're a little better than our opponents. We feel pretty comfortable playing 4 lines, with everyone going. Have a little different line tonight, with Watkins playing with VV and Porter. A couple of other changes going tonight, that you never know how it works until the game starts. We'll do what we have to do to try to win the hockey games. If things aren't working, we'll make changes. Certainly, everyone should be prepared for this. It was special for Duncan to get the Player of the Year award. Don't know if you could pick a more fitting player for the award. Typical Ryan Duncan, gave everyone else credit, and none for himself. That's how he is as a person. Bottom line, we want to play tomorrow night, but I'm sure St. Cloud does too. Comes down to playing together.
  6. Pre-game on. Let's go Sioux!
  7. They individualized Blake by making pucks; individualized ZPar and Bo by making posters. Don't recall what they did for Panzer, but I'm sure they did something. I'm sure Dunc's though, along with every other Sioux fan/player/coach, would rather see #8 than the individual award.
  8. A month ago, they would have been the equalizer for us in the offensive category, basically meaning that if you shut them down, we wouldn't stand a chance. However, as with the past 2 years, Hak has found away to get the other 3 lines rolling, and they definitely are the clear advantage with our offense compared to any other team in this tournament.
  9. Darn USCHO reporters! Obviously he's looking at Phil's overall stats, and not the numbers he's put up since Xmas. You're right, Phil wouldn't care about this. He's well aware what he needs to do, and I'm sure he'll do it to the best of his ability.
  10. If they're near southeast Tennessee, tell them to come over! The next two weekends are the two best weekends of the year for college hockey fans. I set up both TVs in the same room, and have two computers rolling as well. As far as webcasts, not sure about them. Don't know if St. Cloud will show their games on their B2 network. Best way to find out is to visit their home page. Same goes with pretty much every other team.
  11. Way to go Dunc's! Definitely well deserved!
  12. Feeling real good about our team, and the game they're playing now. I'll go 5-3, Sioux. Huskies can't stop the DOT line, and their legs give out midway through the 3rd. Sioux get an EN goal for the 2 goal victory!
  13. It's a good question, and I wish we knew the answer. I would think that they'd come into Friday's game with some energy, but the Sunday night late night show may take it's toll on their Saturday game, especially if they play the matinee game. I do think that they'll come out with some jump, but I'm hoping they slow down midway through the game due to Sunday night. I'm curious as well to see if they play as hard as last year. Last year, they needed to win everything to go on, where this year, they're already assured a spot in the NCAAs.
  14. Gordon cramped up (menstrual?), but did return to the game.
  15. SCSU only had one more game than the Sioux this past weekend? I thought they played almost 2 games more in one day! Thanks PCM! Go Sioux! Take it to the Huskies!
  16. The college hockey players I've heard talk about this subject say pretty much the same thing as those interviewed. The camaraderie/friendships is probably even bigger than the team spirit issue, or at least that's how I interpreted it. Various players have stated that once you get to the NHL, it's a business, and guys have families to go home to. They never seem to form the closeness that is formed during their college days.
  17. All of these things are team awards, and one man can't do it all himself. Yes, I do believe the Hobey is a team award as well. My example here is Brian Elliott. Last year, a top 3 finalist. This year, he's still the backbone to the team, and still someone who I see going on to bigger and brighter things in the NHL. Hobey winners go to players who have strong supporting cast members. Not to say Jonny wouldn't have that, but it is a team award. The clutching and grabbing that is allowed night after night will probably be one of the main reasons he leaves after this year...that and the opportunity to further his game/career at the next level. Why put yourself through another year of being mobbed by less talented teams/players, when you could go to a higher level of hockey where they won't allow that to go on as much. Don't know if you watch the new NHL, but it certainly doesn't allow half the junk that our beloved WCHA allows to go on. Toews is a smart kid, and he'll recognize that it's time to move on. Regardless of how much we all want him to come back. I too would love to see the players stay because of the tradition, but that's not what our program is about. Hrkac triumphed in college, but most will say flopped in the NHL. Should he have stayed? Probably, but everyone knew he was gone.
  18. I'm sure most if not all of our NHL draftees have some type of an insurance policy. It's a pretty normal thing now for NHL draftees in college. However, I'm sure insurance policies aren't part of the dream that these young kids have. Where I would love Toews to stay, I think he's done all he thought he could do at the college level, and the best choice for his development would probably be to go pro. Hopefully that's straight to the NHL, but even if he goes to the AHL, it's still a higher level of hockey than college.
  19. Page 4, right?
  20. These guys just make me want Duluth to win, that much more.
  21. St. Clown announcers going crazy because goal light came on prematurely. Now they're saying after looking at the replay that it may have crossed the line, even though it clearly shows that it's not over the line. Homers.
  22. 6:55 in the 1st OT.
  23. No, Tech or CC will take 3rd seed if SCSU loses.
  24. The only time we'll face him is on St. Patty's Day, and we have a good record against him on that day!
  25. Can't avoid all the good teams. Besides, we took 6 of 8 points from the clowns this year. I feel good about playing them.
