Miscellaneous Lucia comments: After this weekend, I want to get a good feel on our goaltending. Didn't really want to deviate from what we've done throughout the year. Briggs played well last night, and we need to find out if Frazee will play well too. If you look at North Dakota's first half of the season, they had a lot of injuries. Had to play a freshman goaltender; some of the top lines were hurt. After Xmas, the top line is healthy. The other lines start to play. In the first half, they weren't really contributing, where now they're contributing. That's probably the key to their success in the 2nd half of the season. Not sure if we want to get caught in a track meet tonight with them. Didn't really victimize the defense last time, but rather the forwards. A lot of plays came off of forward turnovers. When we protect the puck, we can play with anyone. When we're careless with it, we're an easy team to play against. I'm sure the fans love it. Friday night they get one rival in Wisconsin. Saturday night, they get the other rival in North Dakota.

Not that I'm aware of.

Hak Pre-Game Comments: Bottom line, it's North Dakota vs Minnesota; enough said, let's play. I've been asked so many times about PWR. My plain answer is I could care less right now. We have a game to play tonight, and this is the one I'm focused on. We have an opportunity to defend our championship from last year. A tribute to the leadership in the locker room on getting the team focused in the locker room. I just want to see us come out, play hard, play with energy, and play our game. We've come out of the gates pretty well. Obviously, we'd like to do that tonight, but we need a good 60 minute performance. Can't make too much out of any one game, and you just need to play hard. Playing with speed and playing physical has been a big part of our success. We can't play a half step slow, especially against Minnesota. I've seen their last couple of games, and I expect a big hockey game out of them. I expect one heck of a contest. I don't think we can take the amount of penalties we took at Mariucci. We survived it there, but it's playoff time, and you can't do that. We want to have a heck of a start. I can't see anything but a heck of a hockey game.

One hour out!!!!!! Pre-game starts in 30 minutes. GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Audio Link

Going to be tough for UNH to beat BC, with as well as BC played last night. After watching games last night, they're the only team that I would not feel comfortable meeting next weekend. Other than that, I think we can win if we play our game.

That's how it's been in the past, but I would not be surprised one bit to see the NCAA give them a bid for the sole reason of revenue.
