The word on Goligoski in yesterday's game was that he may have broke a finger, which was keeping him from shooting, but he was still playing.

Watched the replay quite a few times now on Kaip's goal, and everytime I watch it, there's a Michigan defensemen standing right in front of Kaip, so I don't know how you can be so certain it wasn't a screened shot.

Amazing right now? After last years Michigan, I would agree that they looked amazing, but not after last nights game. They showed great character to turn things around last night, and that't the team I hope shows again tonight. I simply hope they come out and play Fighting Sioux hockey the way they've shown us that they can play it. With that being said, I'm sure the Gopher fans are hoping for the same thing out of their team. It will be a great matchup, and that's the bottom line.

Exactly. The fact of the matter is, the loser of this game has reached the end of their season, while the winner lives to play another day. That's a part of sports, and that's what makes it so exciting. As far as the jinxes go, I got up this morning, put on clean clothes, shaved my face, and have not repeated anything exactly how it played out yesterday. I've come to realize long ago that my miscellaneous behaviors have nothing to do with how a team plays, especially when I'm halfway across the country from where they're playing.

I don't think that game alone made it one of the best nights in REA history. If I recall correctly, the Sioux came out after that game and played arguably the best game ever played by a Sioux team in that building. In regards to the remainder of your post, I could care less about last year's game with Holy Cross/Minnesota as it's in the past, however, that's me. If other people want to continue to discuss it, that's fine with me. I know what this thread is about, and choose to come to it from time to time. As far as the jersey thing goes, it's their money to do what they want with it.

You can also check back on all my past posts (which may take some time), and you'll find that I call a team the "Goofs," but tend to give credit where credit is due regarding their play. I've also defended Hirsch (who was a member of the Goofs) throughout his entire ordeal.

Is that possible for our team when playing the Goofs? Maybe so without WCHA refs!

Always good for everyone to have humbling experiences every now and then.

It may have been a drastic call by the ref, but maybe it will send a message to the players in future years that you just keep your mouth shut and play the game. No matter how skilled you may be, you're not above receiving misconduct calls for showing unsportsmanlike conduct. EDIT: Hensick said in the post-game that it was because of something he said to the ref.

That's cool. Just have to realize, no matter how drunk I get, I'm always working for my kids.

Sioux fans travel well! Don't know about anyone else, but I worry about every game in the NCAA tournament! It's a one and done deal, and I don't ever want to be done until we're holding the hardware!

That's a whole different argument, but I also see Native Americans standing up to defend themselves. However, my opinion on that entire thing is that Sioux fans don't disgrace Native Americans, but rather, certain people from opposing fan bases do.

I think that's where I thought Red was being a dick. Didn't think it was anything special. NEWSFLASH RED!!! It went in 5 times on the PP, and I have yet to see a puck with eyes on it! Where were the ref's from (what league)? That may be the standard in that league. We all know that reffing is different throughout the various leagues. I just watched the play again, and Hensick simply skated by the ref and said something. It didn't look like it fazed the the ref at all.

I work with the kids every day and see what they have to go through just to obtain simple things that you and I take for granted every day. It's unfortunate that people still feel it's funny to make statements such as the one you chose to make, and I wish you could spend one day of your life in their shoes to gain a real appreciation of what they go through. As for me, I'm an advocate for these kids and I won't relax over these types of statements, but rather defend the kids who can't defend themselves.

There's a classy post. Work with those kids and you'll gain a lot more respect for them, and maybe next time, you'll use your education from the University of North Dakota to make a more appropriate statement.

TJ could have. Could have come back to bite Red in the butt. But yeah, you're right that they were not happy at all. First interview I've seen where Red was kind of a dick.

Hockey players don't tend to give up things they've used for a while. I think Chelios still uses his shoulder pads that he played with at Wisconsin, though they're all taped together.

Mouthed off to the ref. He said during the post-game interview (which you can see at fightingsioux.com) that he just got sick of what the ref was saying, but didn't think he deserved a 10 minute misconduct. Seemed pretty pissed, cocky in the interview, IMO.

Nothing new really. Sioux need to go far into the playoffs to give us fans a few more games to enjoy are top players. Toews will sign with Chicago shortly after the end of the Sioux season.

Were they not going to the game, or did they just have extra?? If they weren't going, they're not Sioux fans!
