  1. It would be an advantage providing the teams make it that far. That's the challenge. Regional would be elsewhere. I agree that they have to go to cities near colleges with actual contender teams. Tampa Bay will probably be a lousy site, like Anaheim back in '99 or whatever year it was.
  2. Get sick really fast!!!
  3. Now he has! Cross checking on Spartans.
  4. They haven't announced anything officially yet, but I do see some empty seats along the boards (lower level), though there seems to be a pretty fair sized crowd.
  5. I'm pulling for North Dakota today! Other than that, doesn't matter who wins to me! Have to beat the best to be the best, and we have to beat BC first and foremost! GO SIOUX!!!!!!! (Okay, secretly, I really don't want to face Maine again if we do win tonight! Go Spartans! )
  6. You beat me too it! Better this game than ours!!!!!
  7. State gets one back, 2-1.
  8. They actually looked pretty dominating in the regional. Looks like the 10 day break had the same effect on them as it did on us last year. I'm hoping we're not in the same boat this year.
  9. 2-0 Maine. No defense by Michigan State.
  10. Maine scores 23 seconds in to lead 1-0.
  11. This wasn't scientific?? Now that the article has been released, you're the one man to blame should the Sioux not win Thursday!!!!
  12. Not only that but he was putting him on a different line every other game, making it virtually impossible for lines to develop good chemistry. As a rookie, this was obviously tough for Zach to fit in, which resulted in Robinson sitting him for a game as well. I think it's pretty safe to say that Zach was more than happy when Lou got behind the bench.
  13. PCM is already doing that by writing this article, so if they wear black and lose, it's all his fault!
  14. I understand that they want a strong finish as they're moving into a new building next year, but it still makes no sense. The Devils were losing with Gionta, Elias, and Madden out of the line-up. As of yesterday (Sunday), they've all returned, but Gomez was out with a brief injury. Julien led them to another 100 point season, which is a success. I've watched pretty much every Devils game this year and thought Julien did a great job, and new exactly how to use Zach and Travis. Don't see that changing with Lou, but I have a hard time believing Claude was fired, and his being replaced isn't due to some other reason, perhaps a personal reason with him.
  15. Yep, on St. Patty's Day, they wore green.
  16. You're going to jinx us!!! Way to go PCM! Not a big believer in superstition, so I can't really believe this one jersey makes the difference in Sioux winning games and losing games. However this may get into the psychie's of the players and make the difference in them, and what they believe they can do. In regards to the jersey, I've always like the black jersery's of the past. Always been more of a fan of them over the green, but that's just me. I know I'm probably in the minority. As far as this particular jersey, as others have stated, the numbers are difficult to read and the Sioux crest is too small on the front. Not a big fan of the form fitting either....it just doesn't look right for a hockey player not to have a big jersey. Just MHO!
  17. It helps the boot of the skate form to your foot. It's mostly done with new skates to break them in quicker, so I'm not sure why he was doing it at that point of the season, unless he had a new pair of skates.
  18. The Money Line!!!! There, I'm the one person! Okay, I just did it to surprise you. Reality.....Hrkac Circus.
  19. Great report as always PCM. Thanks! Glad to hear Hak is well aware of the dangers of the other teams in the Frozen Four. I'm sure our only focus will be on BC!
  20. The other thing he makes clear as that he likes the location. He commented that he doesn't have any family anywhere near Columbus, and in F-M, he's very near family, including grandchildren. My outtake, unless the Sioux job comes available, and even if it were, I wouldn't be convinced, I don't see Deano going anywhere. And with the way Hak is developing teams, can't expect him to leave anytime soon.
  21. I think last year was the first year they went to night, during the skills competition. Prior to that, it was at a luncheon. As for the question regarding everyone knowing beforehand, not sure how they do it now days. 10 years ago, I know the winner knew about winning it practically a week beforehand, to help him to prepare a speech. However, I don't think anyone else knew other than the player's coach, and a few other selected. The last one I actually watched was 2004, and it didn't appear that Zach knew that he wasn't going to win it. He was very attentive. Could just be him being respectful, but I have a feeling only Lessard and Sandy knew about it. Well, probably all of UMD as well, being the whole team was at the banquet.
  22. Thanks Dagies. Definitely worth listening to. Blais comments, "Dave's making everyone forget about Gino and Deano." Blais feels the only teams that could beat BC are North Dakota or Minnesota due to team speed. Have to watch out for Boyle. Schneider will be solid in net, but as mentioned, it comes down to goaltending. Lammy going to have to be on. Blais also comments, "I'm a little redneck, but I don't like golden hair. That is so like high school." Blais also commented that he thought the Gopher leaders were looking towards their NHL careers, rather than focusing on their college season.
  23. Blake puts in his 38th of the season in tonight's Islanders/Devils game.
  24. I'm not going to make a prediction. We need to focus on BC, bottom line. If we play our game the way we can, I know we can beat BC, and play for #8. If we don't play our best game, we don't deserve to win. With that being said, the only thing better than Fighting Sioux hockey in March......is of course, Fighting Sioux hockey in April!!! GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
