  1. Each team at CSP gets 60 seats behind the bench for their game only. FIrst come First seat! Anyone heard what the ticket prices will be? I beat overpriced so they can make their guarentee to the NCAA, with such limited seating. I guess the NCAA will go to no lengths to keep (get) the National Championship out of the NCC.
  2. Bitch all we want about CSP getting #1 bid, but going to a neutral floor is better than going to NDSU or SDSU! I was amazed that UND moved up 2 spots after winning the NCC Tourn for the 4th straight time. Last year, same win (At SDSU) but no move. Seems like it works in favor of the regional committee to look at our Tourney anyway they want just to keep the ND schools (and maybe NCC) out of Elite 8. Look where the defending NCAA champs ended up - with a cake walk to regional finals. Looks like Ruleys comments on importance of the NCC tourney bit her in the ass. Now they have go through 3 NCC schools to make it to Elite 8! (If all win, which I predict they will)
  3. Isn't it too bad for whiney Mueller I too am glad that he did not make it on All NCC, but then again, he did not deserve it. I tought that Ty Graham was more valuable to UNO than Dada. He probably got it b/c they were NCC champs. Which player was most valuable to their team? I would have to through Ryp into the mix big time. Look for him to be MVP next year.
  4. Some of you have mentioned how the conference tourn. do not have much effect on the regional selection. I would have agreed had UND not been moved up. If you remember last year, UND went into SDSU and beat SDSU to win the NCC tourney. However, they remained #5 in region and drew SDSU in semis. How ironic, that this year UND goes into NDSU and beats them for NCC tourney, and then gets move up to #2. Guess who UND would draw in semis if both win? NDSU. UND would have been better off being left in 4th like last year. Look how easy SDSU has it. No NCC school until finals. Seems to me the only advantage to the NCC tourney is making it hard for ND shcools to make it to Elite 8.
  5. How can St Cloud remain the top 8 after getting swept the last weekend of the season? I don't think they deserve an at large bid to the NCAAs. UM-D would be a better team. As a side note, Concordia-St Paul only won by 2 points in the first round of the NSIC tourney over SW State.
  6. Speaking on Winkelman, I know that the Moen Family brought him up to a UND game last Fall. THe connection may payoff, but the chance to play with former AAU teammates may be too much to pass up at NDSU, that is if he got along with them. Ya never know, could be bad chemistry. I would rather UND give a guy like this a full ride than wait too see who is available from JuCo over the summer.
  7. They have 2 "difference makers" on the bench this year that were injured. Parks and Nobles. The thing that this year points out to me is that the guys that would not have seen the floor this year of all of the JCs had worked out, actually were competitive. They were in a lot of games right to the end. Instead of taking chances on all of the JCs, they should get good young talent and develop it. We will never find another Beasley and should quit trying. UND has not had great luck with transfer players vs the ones who have put in their time and been loyal to the program.
  8. I would not consider Stoute the 5th best post player. He has more athleticism that Wells will ever have. And Wells is not even a fair defender. The biggest need for the Men's team will be depth at the C/PF position. It might be a good idea for Stoute to redshirt just so he has the chance to get better while not losing eligibility. And have you seen Gutter shoot??? Why he is here I am yet find out. He may bloosm next year we will have to wait and see. And as far as NCC title for next year, everyone, especially the JCs, will have to learn to play defense for 40 minutes!
  9. Concerning the recruiting of Baagason, I hear she injured her knee last week and it may be her ACL. That would hurt chances of being seen by other schools over the summer in AAU. It might be the chance for UND to sign her early.
  10. Take it easy on Jackguy. Is it his fault that the leadership at SDSU is running Athletics into the ground? The new Pres. there was quoted as saying that she thinks more students will come to SDSU b/c they are DI and b/c of DI status alone., SDSU grads will get better jobs. ANd then there is Fred, an AD who can only stand up to his wife. So, Jack guy does not have much to go by (warped sense of reality). (and this from a SDSU grad) The colors on the floor at Frost were recently painted and it actually looks better this year., but in the past, it look pretty blahhhhh.
  11. Jackguy, What do you mean a dump? Hyslop is great traditional basketball arena. It is not as new as Frost, but when you get the place full of fans, the atmosphere is as good as Frost Arena. Unfortunately, we have not had the place full for awhile. We have not hosted NDSU or and NCAA regional games in the building. Plus, the administration treats our students like bastard children so they do not come to basketball games. Thus a less than ideal atmosphere. The students at SDSU and NDSU help make the games fun (as long as it is clean). Beside, overall, you have to admit that overall, UND has better (DI quality) facilities than SDSU!
  12. THis must be a false rumor. Now I just heard out of Sioux Falls that the SDSU WBB coach is rumored to be the new coach at Mankato. Sorry for stirring the pot.
  13. I have heard at rumor that a certain WBB coach who is against going DI is going to be the next coach at Mankato. There is a search committee in place at Mankato to replace Ann Walker, who is done at the end of the season. Has anyone else heard any rumors about our beloved (jk) coach from the south moving on to stay in D II? She has been vocal about being against the move to DI.
  14. Did anyone out there notice the debut of the MBB Black uniforms this past weekend? They looked sharp. I do not understand why they did not where green one night and black the next. That is one of the advantages of having 2 away uniforms - not having to do laundry on Sat.
  15. Concerning recruits, 2 of NDSU's signees squared off last night. What a horrible game. Sonstelie scored 17 ugly points on poor shooting and Slyt had 16. At least Slyt worked hard and played good defense. Bison assistant Kelli Layman was in attendance as was KVLY. Looked like Sonstelie choked in that situation. Give credit to Climax/fisher defense though.
  16. I agree that Marisa should have gotten player of the week alone. Flynn's numbers were 20 pts and 11 rebounds avg, where Marisa's were 32 pts and 5.5 rebounds in wins at home against tough competition. USDs win were on the road, and St Cload is tough. But a career high (38) should get the honor alone!
  17. SDSU is by far the toughtest place to play., but for visiting fans Hyslop is right there as well. BSA is tough only because their students are right behind the bench and are your typical classless NDSU students. The rest of the NCC does not draw enough fans to have home court advantage. USD is rough due to dumb drunks yelling obscenities at the players, but Domes are never a good environment....REA is the same. UND will lose home court advantage next year with all of the important games being played at the Ralph Mankato may be nice, but it is not a tough place to play. THey and UNO tie for last in environment.
