  1. According to Schlossman's live chat yesterday, Frattin got his signing bonus, and a 1 game prorated salary paycheck for his appearance with the Leafs. Ended up being around 65K for the bonus, for a total of around $100K for playing in that one game!

I would assume that is how it works for these guys, play in the minors for a salary of 50-60K, the NHL for 700-900K, and if you play only a few games with the big club, you receive a prorated salary for those, and ride the bus for an average salary in the minors the rest of the year.

Frattins bonus was $87,500 plus he gets another 87,500 next year. Ahl salary would be 65k NHL salary would be 875K. Divid that by 82 games = $ 10,670.73 per game. So for 1 game frattin got $98,170.73.

  2. We have season tickets in the lower bowl - 9 rows off the ice in the corner where the Sioux shoot twice. If we take the cost of the actual tickets and add the Fighting Sioux Club membeship at the Coach's Club level, PLUS the applicable fees and mandatory playoff tickets ,and divide by the number of games there are in a season, it comes to $31.36 per seat per night. Well below the $45 per seat he is asking. I do agree however that market dictates that no one would argue with asking $45 per seat - but to be accusing that the buyer is trying to lowball you is not correct.

That is some good math, thanks for doing that, I always wondered what it came out to be. I don't think anyone is argueing him asking $45 per seat, just maybe the person looking to sell his ticket to a sioux fan wanted/has been offered/ expected more.

  3. I am not 100% positive on this, but can you even get lower level tickets via ticketmaster? This guys tickets are 2nd row from the ice and are very good seats to watch the sioux score during the 1st and 3rd periods. Also, in reading the forum guidelines it says season ticket holders may view the fighting sioux club donation (mandatory donation) as part of the cost of their tickets. So I would say you would maybe need to go above $45 for this pair of tickets but that is just my view, everyones is different, and I understand that. If there were tickets galore in the lower level, then you would maybe have to settle on the $45 but it is a huge series against a hated team.

  4. Actually I don't pay above and beyond actual cost either as I am a season ticket holder, sorry for failing to realize you were looking for tickets at the Ralph, there is a HUGE demand for tickets in Bemidji for the games there so I was simply trying to give you a heads up if you were looking for the games in Bemidji. Truely what is fair cost, I pay the fighting sioux club to have my tickets, so is that included in actual cost? i guess that depends on the person.

  5. What they see in Reasoner is a minimal salary cap hit of like 1.5 million for just the upcoming year. Stan Bowman has said from the start that they need to get cap room and they are looking for young prospects in return and Jeremy Morin is a great start along with the draft picks they have been acquiring.

  6. I realize that Des Moines is a bad team this year and is defensively weak. There goalie Crandall has really slipped since last year (hence lost his scholly at Wisconsin), but was just inquiring about Brunteau to see if it was his play that earned him the -4 of if it was just a consequence of playing on a bad team. He has had moments of brillance this year regardless of his teammates. I am wondering what you thought of Gleason, as his offensive numbers have really fallen off and his +/- is usually pretty bad?? Thanks for the info

Gleason is tough to judge, he is definetly a smooth skating dman. The team is just so bad defensively I don't really know what to think. I would think he would be fine if he could really depend on whoever he is playing with. I think of the Genoway/Finley combination, no matter what people say Joe is pretty good defensively, therefore allowing Genoway to take some offensive rushes. I think Gleason will be fine, but do feel that he needs dependable partners with him on the blue line. It will be interesting to see how McWilliam develops and we may have a pretty good combination back there, along with Mattson and eventually Forbert.

  7. I was at the Force game on Sunday and did not see anyone with the last name WHITE playing with Des Moines.

Brunteau may have been a -4 because he plays on one of the worst teams in the league, and the force absolutely dominated them, I compare him to the cichy situation, I think he is one of the best players on a not so good team, and would think he would put up great numbers with a better team.

By the way, the force have been on a roll lately and really playing well, and are making a playoff push which impresses me since they are the youngest team in the league.
