there have been many many threads and posts on this issue. oh well. it makes a difference because the top seed should usually get the afternoon game to get more rest for saturday title game rewarding you for beig the top seed but if the gophers make it to the final 5. then if they happen to win the play in game that thursday and all other seeds win like they are suppose to then the sioux and gophers would play friday night to ensure sold out arena blah blah blah, its a money thing.

Instead, most of them were focused on the seniors, who will be playing in Ralph Engelstad Arena for the final time this weekend. Coach Dave Hakstol also said that the MacNaughton Cup stuff will wait until after the series. He said he didn't know what's planned, but he said nothing would happen until the series was over. The players received several text messages from former Sioux players after winning the MacNaughton Cup championship on Friday night -- especially from guys who played with this current senior class. NHL MVP candidate Zach Parise also texted a few of the players to wish his congrats. Parise did not play with any of the current Sioux players at UND, though. Speaking of former Sioux following athletics programs, T.J. Oshie recently drove over to Edwardsville, Ill., on his day off to watch the Sioux basketball teams take on SIU-E in a doubleheader. One more piece of info: The Sioux have ditched the mustaches this year. The players are being allowed to do whatever they want. Expect to see beards on most of them.

yeah the rto in mesa has the right type of sattelite to get all fssn games, not just fox and espn games that any bar can get. tro in mesa was packed this last weekend with the sioux golf thing and other stuff going on and also always full of sioux fans for pretty much every series

The WCHA announced he has been suspended for one game because of his actions in last Saturday's league game against St. Cloud State. In that game, Bruess had a pair of kneeing penalties -- one a five-minute major. The suspension will be served during Friday's first-round playoff series game against Wisconsin. Bruess also was suspended for his actions during a Saturday night game against UND on Feb. 14. In that game, Bruess also was penalized for kneeing. In another unpenalized incident, he took Sioux defenseman Derrick LaPoint into the boards from behind. LaPoint broke both bones in his leg and is out for the season.

thats because they are on the bubble and pretty much assuming they may lose to scsu in their playoff series. if they do beat them they should be in the tourney and grab a 4 seed unless they can make a run in the final 5 if the season ended today which is doesnnt they would be in cc and scsu have a lot more to worry about than winning their best of 3 series. the wcha could end up with just 2 teams in du and und if these other 3 dont win their series and we know if scsu beats minny then they would still have to win maybe 2 games in the final 5 to jump up. down year for the wcha as a whole. 2 teams making it top heavy then very mediocre

because the gophers are a host team. who ever is a host team fo the 4 regionals gets to play their if they earn a ncaa spot each of the 4 regionals every year have hosts as a example when the sioux had their regional a few years back no mateer if they made it as a 1,2,3 or 4 seed they get to play in their own regional as the host

of course nobody wants to play anyone at home but if any unbias college hockey fan has watched the gophers play over the last 3 months i highly doubt anyone is that afraid of your team. sorry but they arent and i called a spade a spade. the gophers are a 4 seed right now and have deserved that 4 seed with their crappy play. just because they have a big M on their jersey doesnt mean they arent a true 4 seed which they are. lose 2 to scsu and they are done and done as you know any team that is 3-6-3 in their last 12 with 7 of those 12 at home doesnt exactly stick out as a feared team. there are gapping holes in that D and kangas as well only a little over 2 weeks when we can see the real tourney seedings and brackets. cant wait as a wcha fan !!

i friken hate DU and have no love affair with them so you can count me out of that assumption you stated of some. they had a hell of a season and are loaded as a team and they get bozak back who is one of their best players. i just think they are dangerous along with the sioux. cc is very solid but 100 times more impressed would be a stretch. i would rank cc as my 3rd most dangerous team for sure. then after that there isnt a team i would ever rely upon. the funny thing is cc wouldnt even be in the tourney if it ended today and thats theor own fault as if they had not blown that DU game a few weeks back they would be a couple places higher in the pairwise. they HAVE to win their series and then maybe 1 more game to get in. cant wait to see how this plays out!
