  1. Trying to be as objective as possible, I see the situation where I think Lee excels in some areas and is weak in other areas. He can contol the puck and move the puck and control the power play as good as anyone in the league, in my opinion. That being said, you don't have to be a huge hitter on d but you must play the body and have a physical presence in your own end and I don't think Lee is very good in that area at this point in his career. I am sure with his size and his skills, that will continue to improve upon. With the skill set he has, the new rules in the NHL and the improvements I am sure he will make in a Sioux uniform, he should have a very promissing career in the NHL.

  2. To everyone that is scrambling to get tickets: I wish you good luck, but don't whine on this board. I've had my tickets since June 2005, in anticipation of UND making it.......if they had not made it, then yes, I would be stuck with some unwanted tickets - that's the chance I took........You can't have reward without risk.......so quit whining about it on this board, get your butt off your tractor, find someone with tickets and pay up........

Why don't you find a different team  You would not be missed.

  3. There's a pretty good chance it will come true again. If not, I'm sure they'll come very close at the very least. I think the perception that Red River and Central win state titles way more frequently than South is rather outdated. Let's take a look at recent history, shall we? In the last 8 years South and Central each have two state titles, Red River has three, and Grafton-Park River has one. Had South been able to hold on for another 47 seconds two years ago that list would read three each for South and Red River, one each for Central and Grafton-Park River. No matter which way the last 47 seconds of that game went, those top four programs in the state have all been fairly even for as far back as most current high school students can remember. I just fail to see the so-called monstrous drop-off after the two GF schools. 20 years ago, yeah. But not anymore. I know it's difficult for some GF people to come to grips with the fact that their days of dominating year-in and year-out are ancient history, but it is what it is. Central and Red River are still among the top programs in the state, but they have some company at the top now. In the last three years Central, South, and Red River can all say they have one 1st place finish and one runner-up finish. It is now the big three where it used to be the big two, and Grafton-Park River is very close to making it a big four.

I would agree with your post and I think it is a compliment to North Dakota hockey that it isn't just a two-horse race each year.

  4. I'm pulling for North Dakota to win it all. Why not? UND has a better hockey program (in my opinion) than Wisco, and I think they are much more deserving of a national championship. I love our conference. We get the pleasure of watching some of the most storied teams in all of hockey (Minnesota, UND, Denver, Mich Tech, Wisco), the best players in college hockey (Potulny, Irmen, Oshie, Carle, Sterling, Sertich, Backes, etc.), and the best fans in college hockey. The more the WCHA wins, the better it is for our conference.

Congrats to UND on a fine regional, good luck against BC.

Oh, as for the Hobey Baker debate, I'm pulling for Ryan. He had a great finish to the year, was the nation's top goal scorer, meets all of Hobey Baker's sportsmanship qualifications, and is a great overall hockey player. I think Carle is deserving as well too, and in support of my pro-WCHA tendencies, would not mind seeing him win either (nice to see him get his first ever NHL goal at Xcel last night!). I haven't seen Collins play, so I don't know much about him... let's hope either Potulny or Carle can keep Hobey in the conference.

    Thanks for the encouraging words!!!

I met a lot of great Gopher fans this weekend and was a Sioux fan who was disappointed not t o see the Gophers and Sioux play last night.

  5. And then one wonders why it is hard to like the 0-fer program - 3rd place game and they are more concerned about what bar they are going to try and sneak into tonight. Way to go Wisco!

  6. I would dare say congrats to Oshie as it was Kessel's who was the annoited one. Oshie came very close to unseatting the chosen one.

And by the way as you would all agree, if you had the choice for a player on your team, Oshie wins in a landslide...

  7. A little late, but Prpich doesn't deserve the 'A.' It should have been given to Stafford or Fabian months ago.

Secondly, I wonder if the coaching staff has addressed Duncan's shot. I've never seen a college hockey player shoot it over the net more often in my life.

You forgot to add that Smaby can't check very well either

  8. What concerns me the most is that Jordan did not look very sharp tonight. Take into considereation that I am a huge JPAR fan but it did not look like he felt comfortable all night long. It appeared that he was out of position on many occasions and only by the luck of the puck did it go wide. Is it his faul they lost, I would have to say no, but he needs to lead the charge into the NCAA's especially when the likes of Fabian and Stafford are gone. That being said, it is easy to pinppoint blame at the hands of a keyboard.

  9. ...what she said.

SFSIOUX, grab a beer and relax, man! The Sioux will win the next 2!

I have grabbed many a beer all night and what is most concerning is that if the Sioux cannot beat Mankato, they will not go that far in the NCAA's. That is not to knock Mankato but is more of a realization that the Sioux just are going to need alot of luck to get to Milwaukee.

  10. Headed for OT. Anything can happen here. Ziggy is smokin...and that bodes well for this playoff run!

Yep the Dogz are going all the way...they are going to beat Denver, then win on Thursay, Friday and then on Saturday and then get a bid to the NCAA's. Wow, I really need some of the stuff you are smoking.

  11. Getting tired of saying this...but some people care about what is going on around the league. We cheer for the Sioux in good spirit when we are on this board. Don't expect you to do the same for us...

Dogs killed a 5 minutes major...should have been a 3 min kill, but Campion didn't call the retaliation hit after the whistle.

Ziggy is coming up huge...he's playing the game of his life! Hope the Dogs can get one and make his effort worthwhile!

    27 big saves for Ziggy!

Thats fine...then start another thread with the appropriate topic.
