So you think that you specifically degrading me is the same as a student section going after an old nasty rival? I can't believe I have to point this out to anyone. I thought college made people smarter....

Being a little sensitive aren't you? What part of 'just trying to be funny - don't take it personally' don't you understand?  I thought college made people smarter....

It's like a coffee shop in here full of old bitchy women. Everyone all across the world needs to STOP being so sensitive!

F**CK YOU A$$HOLE!!!!   I guess this is alright then. (ps: just trying to be funny - don't take it personally. I agree this whole chain (that I contributed to) is kinda silly and somewhat pointless)

So much this... you ever notice how the schools that get attacked the most have the most successful programs. You don't hear anyone saying "Man that AIC has some dipshit fans, and don't even get me started on Alabama Huntsville!'

If you hope to please everyone and want everyone to like our fanbase you're going to be pretty miserable. They take shots at 'being obnoxious' because they need to steer the conversation away from anything that has to do with the actual sport at hand, which is hockey. Kinda like when people say 'there's nothing to do in Grand Forks so that's why they have so many fans'. It's just them lashing out because their team isn't nearly as exciting to follow.

I don't lose any sleep hoping everyone likes our fan base.  I swear a lot and am far from a prude, i just don't think any crowd shouting 'F*uck the <fill in the blank>' adds anything to the game but if it makes someone happy then by all means go for it.

Hot place in early 70s.  Wasn't there a place in EGF at around that time called the Riverbend which often had two bands playing?

Late 70's also. Riverbend was a great spot - some of the best food around, especially a nice dinner. Had the 9 hole golf course. When it closed down the owners opened Griggs Landing downtown I believe. Use to watch the Lamont Cranston band there on occasion.

    Grand Forks ND

well done - and a trip down memory lane. Anybody remember the Level 7 in EGF?

  6. I'd like to give a tip-of-the-hat to Berry and staff. He is a class act demonstrated by his post-game presser - no whining, no bitching, complemented BU and couldn't talk
enough about about how proud he was of his boys. I know the PP could have been better, but really I think this team overachieved, and they were peaking at the right time.
They were very young and lost a lot of studs from last year. Other teams were in the same boat and where are they? (see QU, BC and Michigan). I think it's a credit to the
coaches instilling the Sioux tradition of excellence into a young team that got them to a high level, where other programs would have failed.

The fact Gage isn't an anti-American progressive liberal should not reflect poorly on him or the program. He doesn't attend UC Berkeley. Yet Lady Gaga will use the SB halftime show to voice her "political" views in about 9 hours. Just watch.........and social media will be buzzing with praise.

There. Lady Gaga was a good girl. You feeling better now???

I thought this was 'north-dakota-vs-scsu-saturday-gameday' post.

CAN WE PLEASE LEAVE THE POLITICAL BS OFF THIS SITE.PLEASE????

I found it. A white t-shirt with just the Hawk head on it. I have to admit, it seems a little lacking!:D

Actually I think I like this much better than the current logo. It is simple, unique, has artistic value, and may even (god forgive) cause people to use their imagination to interpret what it represents for those not familiar. And if you think those are not good traits I would argue that the somewhat similar Nike swoosh has done pretty well.

As the person that started this thread, I will tell you why I asked the question and started the topic "What do you think of the logo now."  It was my intention to prove my theory that now that hoopla of releasing the new logo has come and gone and merchandise has started to become available, that peoples reactions to the new Fighting Hawks logo would be more favorable than they were just 2 months ago.  And I think that my theory proved to be true.  Just based on the voting results, 2 months ago in the initial reaction thread, only 19% of voters gave it an A or B.  In this thread, 2 months later, 30% of voters rated it an A or B.  No of course that is just a small sample, but I think is does show the bigger picture that the logo is starting to gain acceptance.

Ummm. 46% still think it's a piece of crap. (the D and F voters)

  11. I think the issue here is not that you are a loyal supporter or not, a hockey fan or not, or a die-hard Sioux Forever person or not.

It's just that the logo is SO UNBELIEVABLY BAD.

I could have embraced the Hawks and even bough some merchandise with a cool logo - but I never will and that does not make me a un-loyal alum. I just won't wear something that looks so stupid.

And don't chastise people or players that complain. If the logo was a turd-on-a-stick would you not say something? Well this is a turd-on-a-stick if you ask me.
