Swanson's skating is only average. His acceleration isn't very good. For a player who's 5-7, this is a death sentence from an NHL standpoint. That said, his ability to process the game and read plays is amazing. He's like a very very poor man's version of Matvei Michkov in that he has an uncanny ability to draw opponents to him whereby he then escapes them or dishes the puck to open spaces.
Stylistically he reminds me A LOT of Chris Fournier (remember him?). Fournier would've been an amazing college hockey player if he wasn't such a lazy spoiled lockerroom cancer.
Are these shortcomings from a pro perspective areas that can be improved with our staff? Genuine question, I know nothing about youth/junior hockey and development in general.

Required reading for recruits. Stayed an extra year for the fans and led the team back to the tournament. Cheers to you, Riese!

Twice now she has made a spectacle of her relationships going sour. You can stop being philanthropic with an entity, but you don't need to announce it to the world. Money doesn't buy class.

Engelstad Foundation severed ties with UNLV just last week. So more money in that bankroll …
Wow. Any word on why? Inopportune time for a school on the outside looking in with realignment (and with D1 hockey aspirations).

DU vs Notre Dame in lacrosse on right now, probably a good thing for Summit League for DU to succeed during championship weekend.

Wodon is filling his adult diaper about the NCAA ruling. Ivies will be left behind despite their untaxed billions in endowments.

Chris Heisenberg's recruiting sheet has Grayden Slipec crossed off of UND and listed as un-committed now. I'm not surprised but has anyone heard anything on this?
The most recent Steel line chart shows him as committed, but that was over a month ago. COVID derailed his development, but he's had time to get back on track.

Potter -> U17, decommit MiSU, commit to ASU, ... now this ... likely coincidence but still interesting.
Wonder if O'Neill or Lindberg are among them.

Yeah, we complain about guys like Albrecht in the lineup, can you imagine if that was the coach’s kid!
Shaw not living up to expectations was more noticeable with his dad on the bench.

Why did he commit to UST? He is highly regarded and very big. Did Brad not want to coach his son? Did Bauer not want the pressure of playing for his father?
The potential for locker room issues having the son's kid on the team needs to be negated by blue chip status, which he does not have. He might get drafted with a throwaway pick.

Sad to point out that St. Thomas has already passed UND in MBB and WBB how long until they do the same in hockey? They've got the money.
Hockey isn't the marquis sport on their campus; they've got a high ceiling, but that doesn't mean they'll be displacing blue bloods any time soon. More than anything it's an alternative to Dinkytown to play a quality schedule while living in the cities; Gophers have more to worry about on the recruiting trail than we do.

Coltyn Sanderson came from a similar league, earned a consistent role as a senior and scored one of my all time favorite goals against Michigan with the drop-tip. I hope to look back at this guy with a fond memory too.

USA Connelly commits terrible major; Canada scores three on the power play. 5-3 Canada. Five to play.
He's already off some teams draft boards as it is, yikes.

The way the world is today, most USHL guys have committed before juniors.
I meant current college players in the transfer portal.

Then DU gets another Stanley Cup parade. Not to mention the Nuggets won it all last year. Denver is catching up to Boston for most spoiled sports town.

Gaber probably regrets not signing an NHL contract after his junior year. That's too bad the previous offers weren't there any more.

I'd like to see some former Force as portal targets, they've lived in the area already and obviously have the Eades et al connection.

She should hold a press conference and explain her statements a la this:
Hopefully she leans into the heel role and gets eyes on the product.
