So this amazing D we have don't have much else to prove here - Just waiting another year before they move on up

Is correcting this on the Captains or Coaches or Both ?

Seems the teams that have been winning national championships have one or 2 good players & a bunch of hard workers who kept getting better

I don't think a team loaded with NHL Draft choices is the right formula - I'd love to be wrong

So, what's your solution? Stop recruiting really good players? FFS

They just got swept in a series in February. There's no perspective to a full season any more.  :silly:

That means UND blocked 8 shots and DU blocked 27.
Which means that the UND had 72 shot attempts with 41 being saved, 27 being blocked, and 4 goals.
While DU had 39 shot attempts with 25 being saved, 8 being blocked, and 6 goals.
    Posts not included.

Wouldn't shots off posts be counted in "shot attempts"?

Adidas owns CCM (skates) and Reebok (hockey gear).

Do Nike or UA have hockey gear or skates?

"Department wide" means covering all needs and all accepting the outcome.

They aren't all wearing CCM skates anyway. There's such a variance between skate boots, no one in their right mind would ever force a person to wear a certain brand. I remember basketball shoes varying quite a bit. Each foot is unique, and a different brand works better than others, even though you can bake the skates to fit your foot. It's still different.

This player fits the profile of someone Motzko locks up early.  Lock him up now and hope he learns the rest of the game in juniors.  Although I didn't see him in HS, I wouldn't be surprised if Benik was far from complete at that age ... all he did was score.  And I haven't seen this one either, so I have no idea if I should be mentioning him with Benik.

Very fair comparison to Benik in my opinion. Its not a Class A/AA argument anymore. These kids that are elite are participating in spring festivals, summer leagues, fall leagues, etc., playing against the top competition and they are already on the radar. A kid can't hardly help the town he lives in and whether he's attending a school that is A or AA. Kids at any level can be hit or miss. 39 goals in a season of high school hockey is impressive, I don't care where you're playing. And TRF plays a pretty solid schedule.

Here is a great article to ponder: http://www.letsplayhockey.com/teams/high-school/2979-moose-lake-hockey-lives-on.html

You are spot on with the Motzko reference as well. May see another '99 or two from Section 8 get snatched up by SCSU soon as well. The pitch is that "if you were two inches taller, every school in the country would be all over you. I'm here making an offer now because I believe in you." - I know for a fact he's playing this angle. Motzko has done pretty well recruiting these types of guys.

Instead we were all pretty disappointed.

I was more alluding to the seventeen mentions by Jim Nantz that Coldplay, Bruno Marrs, and Beyoncé were coming up at halftime. If someone didn't know that already, they were out of the country.

Also, tough to be disappointed when the expectations were very low to begin with. All the hype for Super Bowl 50, and that's their halftime show pick? Must have been like the Pro Bowl selections in that 114 people turned them down.

"Until this is resolved, either by referendum in June or by a state Supreme Court decision before that, the university finds itself in a costly pickle. Faison said the athletic department spent $750,000 on the original transition. He declined to predict the cost of changing back."

This was in 2012 and doesnt included the wasted money on legislative sessions etc etc etc dealing with this. Just last year there was an article that mentioned the real cost was a couple of million. I will look to see if I can find it.

    Game. Set. Match.

But don't tell McFeely that. http://www.inforum.com/news/3936942-mcfeely-states-leaders-should-get-use-private-planes-not-force-fake-humility

Apparently criticism of NDSU is not allowed. Don't you know they have now won FIVE national titles in a row? Do you realize the exposure that brings to the state of ND? You can't jeopardize that with some frivolous questioning of El Presidente's judgement in flying business class when the only alternative would be to sit with the peasants in coach. He's IMPORTANT! duh.

I told my dad once that Doug McLeod is a terrible play-by-play announcer. Apparently, he was the North Star play-by-play guy as well. The starts have been gone a lone time, and I don't remember him.

I don't know if the baseball references he keeps making are something he does all the time or if it's a sign of mailing it in regarding this game. He sure doesn't seem like he expected BSU to even be in the game, let alone winning it.

  10. I'm having this issue again. Used to follow across all devices, but the board isn't going to the first non-read post for me anymore on any of them. IPad, iPhone, PC, doesn't seem to matter. Have tried logging out and in again, but that didn't help.

  11. Would think it would've been more productive to sit together and strategize the trip during the flight, especially if he needed the extra space in order to "work". Maybe he was able to do that via texts, though??

It's too bad he even had to be on the same plane as those other peasants. With a trip of this utter importance, and the supposed value it will bring to NDSU, taxpayers should feel fortunate that the Dean didn't commandeer the NDSU jet, as it seems he would have been justified in the eyes of some in this thread. Will be interesting to see the number of tuition waivers that come directly as a result of it.

    Three finalists announced:
    Summit Athletics Media
    SME Inc
    Phoenix Design Works

Fairly impressive portfolios. SME did the Big Sky and NAU rebranding among other things. Phoenix Design does a ton of college work. Summit seems to handle more specific events/things but do have a variety in their portfolio.

Did they have to provide artwork already? Or are they just the three finalists based on previous work? Or by the lowest price in the RFP's? Just curious...

Denver has clawed back from a 2-0 deficit to lead Duluth 3-2 late in the third. Duluth has to be the biggest disappointment in the conference. High expectations have not been met thus far.

And they are badly outshooting their opponent again. They seem to have 40+ shots in every game but never score more than 2 or 3 goals. They either have terrible puck luck, terrible shooters, or they are attempting a lot of terrible shots.

Duluth loses again while outshooting their opponent badly. They are now 5-5-4 when outshooting their opponent by 10+ shots. Quite a few of those games they outshot their opponent by closer to 20 shots.
