PorkChop ... we hardly knew ya Iron Pig Controversy A new minor league baseball team is taking heat over its mascot's name. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Phillies' new Triple-A minor league baseball team, held a contest to pick a name for its furry mascot. A 5-year-old girl submitted the idea for "PorkChop," and the club thought it had hit a homerun. Little did the team realize the name would drum up old racial scars. It was supposed to be fun and a grand slam with kids, but some Puerto Ricans in the Lehigh Valley quickly cried foul.
