TheJake
The Sioux power play went 0-5 last night on the PP against a hot goaltender and without key playmaker Jonathan Toews. Not to mention missing a regular power play defenseman Brian Lee. This happens to the Sioux at a point in the season where we need to capitalize on every opportunity we get, no matter the rink we are playing in. Good to see a solid performance in net from Phil. What's the story with the Gophs rescheduling there Saturday game vs Mankato? They'll have all their World Junior players back for Sundays game. Brutal! Snake
tDon called Jutting this summer and asked if they could move the game. Since it's UM's home game they have such options. Jutting decided to go with it since he figured it was the right thing to do. PA and Dubay interviewed Jutts yesterday and asked if he would have made the same decision a month ago he said NOPE! The Sioux have no significant depth at forward, so I guess it's no surprise to me they'd go 0-5 on the PP without Toews and Lee. Last night was a pretty good indicator of how far away this team is from being a serious contender. We lose 1-0 on the road to CC with only one forward gone and the Gophers handle 'Kato on the road 5-1 with three lines. There's not enough time to make baby-steps, either. It could get ugly at Mariucci...
TheJake
From sources at the game last night, it sounds like the Sioux were a few bounces short of putting together one of their better games against WCHA opponents. I am sick and tired of hearing this. You can only lose so many games by bad breaks or fair (at best) goaltending. I would like to see Hak show a little bit of emotion in front of the squad and fire them up. I don't particularly care for coaches who blow a gasket every game but something different needs to be done on the bench. I think we've pretty much exhausted all of our other options!
