PCM
I could have put this under the "former players" thread, but I think this article on Cary Eades deserves a thread of its own. Two life-altering events have played a major role for University of North Dakota assistant coach Carey Eades, who in August coached Team White to the gold medal game of the Under-17 Three Nations Tournament in Rochester, N.Y. (Team Blue prevailed, 5-2). On Dec. 26, 1983, while playing in a minor league game in Billings, Mont., he fractured his neck, dislocated his fourth cervical vertebrae and cracked his fifth cervical vertebrae in two places. Eades, who was born in Burnaby, B.C., was also sworn in as an American citizen in Minnesota two weeks after Sept. 11, 2001.
