jimdahl Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 UND release Matt, what do you know about Michigan? Smaby: They have a lot of skill up front and a couple of guys on the blue line that can keep the puck away too. They work hard. Just like any other Michigan team, they are dangerous. Coach can you talk about how you and North Dakota are the same and how you are different? Berenson: “I think we’re the same in that they have a lot of young players, as well – young, talented players. I think they play the type of hockey that we play. We try and play an upbeat, offensive game if we can. I think they try and do the same. We try and pride ourselves on an honest game every night, a two-way game. You won’t see us trap. We’re going to play the game. North Dakota, I expect, will do the same. They have a good hockey tradition. Walking around this building, they’ve done a great job in reminding people of the hockey tradition in North Dakota.” … “They have a great tradition here and Michigan has a great tradition. So, these programs have been around a long time – a lot of great moments, great players and great teams.” TJ, can you give us a couple of keys to this game? Hensick: “If we’re able to shut (UND’s top two lines) down and frustrate their top players, I think we have a good chance to win.” … “Special teams will be huge for us. If we win the special teams war, we’ll have a hand in the game. And also our forecheck will be a big momentum swing for our team. If we can create turnovers in their zone and capitalize, it will give us some momentum.” Quote
