nodakvindy Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 With the massive rains back east, just wondering how you are holding up. Having been through the 97 floods, I'm sure everyone in the Red River Valley is thinking about our friends in the Northeast. Gotta take care of the Sioux-Scarlet Knight alliance! Quote
JESUS,family, rutgers Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Hello Nodakvindy, Today is our first day of sunshine after eight straight days of rain. The governor declared a state of emergency a few days ago. No deaths that I am aware of, but several towns near the Ramapo and Wanaque rivers and some of the Shore towns around Asbury Park had to be evacuated. I live in Manchester in The Pinelands which is about 15 miles from the ocean and not near any major rivers. The crazy thing about this is that we have only had a few days of light rain since March. Yet another reason why it is very hard being a farmer in New Jersey. Thanks a lot for asking--I hope the 18 inches of snow didn't cause too many problems in North Dakota. Quote
