JESUS,family, rutgers Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 The general opinion here in the East is that with TCU coming in,the Big East football/basketball split is going to be announced later this year. If Villanova says no,then Central Florida would join the football schools in the new "Big Northeast" or whatever it will be called. It costs a ton of money to go from 1-AA to 1-A. Villanova is in a small town and they wil never let them build a big stadium, not even 45,000 seats. I think they will end up playing at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field which holds about 70,000 or the new pro soccer stadium which holds about 30,000. I don't think Temple and the Eagles want another team chewing up the grass at Lincoln Financial Field. Vilanova does not want to play in a second tier Northeast basketball league so I think they will spend just enough money to have a football program like Rice or Duke. Quote
