dakotadan
Team (Pts) WCHA Overall 1. Minnesota (20) 9-2-1-1 13-2-1 2. Minnesota Duluth (16) 8-4-0-0 12-6-0 3. Wisconsin (12) 6-4-0-0 9-5-2 4. Ohio State (11) 5-6-1-0 6-7-3 5. Bemidji State (10) 3-5-2-2 4-10-2 t6 Minnesota State (8) 2-5-3-1 4-5-3 t6 St. Cloud State (8) 4-8-0-0 7-9-0 8. North Dakota (7) 3-6-1-0 3-6-3 Obviously it is hard for the ladies to make much progress in the standings when they have had 3 weeks in a row where all they had was an exhibition game and a non-conference series. The ladies get back into WCHA action this weekend against BSU. The Beaver have made progress with their program as well. It should be a couple of good games for the ladies. They could use a conference sweep right now to get them back into the hunt for the top half of the conference. dakotadan
Going into this weekend: Team (Pts) WCHA Overall 1. Minnesota (28) 13-2-1-1 17-3-2 t2 Minnesota Duluth (21) 9-5-2-1 13-7-2 t2 Wisconsin (21) 10-5-1-0 13-6-3 4. Bemidji State (19) 6-6-4-3 7-11-4 5. Ohio State (14) 6-8-2-0 9-9-4 6. St. Cloud State (13) 5-9-2-1 8-10-4 7. Minnesota State (12) 2-9-5-3 4-11-5 8. North Dakota (9) 4-11-1-0 5-12-3 Bemidji State is by far the BIGGEST surprise this year! They are sitting in 4th only 2 points behind UMD and UW who are tied for 2nd!!! Notice that MSU sits ahead of us in the standings but only has 2 conference wins. It is the Women's WCHA shootout scoring points that puts them ahead of us. Random Stats: UND has been outscored by their opponents 57-40 so far this year. UND has 1 shorthanded goal this season yet has not given one up. Jan. 15, 16 & 17 UM @ BSU OSU @ MSU UW @ UMD SCSU @ UND

dakotadan
Team (Pts) WCHA Overall 1. Minnesota (40) 17-4-3-3 21-5-4 2. Minnesota Duluth (37) 17-5-2-1 21-7-2 3. Wisconsin (27) 13-10-1-0 16-11-3 4. Bemidji State (26) 8-9-7-3 9-14-7 5. St. Cloud State (25) 9-11-4-3 12-12-6 6. Ohio State (24) 11-11-2-0 14-12-4 7. Minnesota State (14) 3-16-5-3 5-18-5 8. North Dakota (12) 5-17-2-0 6-18-4 I really hate the shootout scoring on the women's side of the WCHA. UND has won 2 more games than MSU yet sits behind them in the standings due to the pointless shootout. OSU has won 2 more games than SCSU yet sits behind them and has won 3 more games than BSU and sits 2 spots behind them. That makes absolutely no sence. Let's take the shootout out and take a look at what the points and standings would be then. 1. Minnesota (37) 17-4-3 21-5-4 2. Minnesota Duluth (36) 17-5-2 21-7-2 3. Wisconsin (27) 13-10-1 16-11-3 4. Ohio State (24) 11-11-2 14-12-4 5. Bemidji State (23) 8-9-7 9-14-7 6. St. Cloud State (22) 9-11-4 12-12-6 7. North Dakota (12) 5-17-2-0 6-18-4 8. Minnesota State (11) 3-16-5 5-18-5 Not earth shattering but it moved the teams around enough to really change who would be going where for the playoffs if they started right now. And I am sure OSU would appreciate to have their home ice instead of going to #3 Wisconsin which they would do if the playoffs were starting right now.
