Kevin Spiewak at Red Wings Camp by Sarah Lindenau September 7, 2003 With seven free agent tryouts on their prospect tournament roster, the Detroit Red Wings are keeping a close eye on which players have pro potential. Red Wings Central is also monitoring the organization's top contract hopefuls, and will post daily updates on which prospects lead the way. The three front-runners after Friday's games are (in order): [1] Carsen Germyn: Despite being held off the scoresheet, Germyn threw his weight around and had good scoring opportunities in the overtime period. However, he took a bad holding penalty late in the third period. [2] Bobby Chaumont: Assisting on Matt Ellis's goal for his first point of the tournament, Chaumont displayed good offensive skill. Sooner or later, he needs to chip in with a goal. [3] Kevin Spiewak: The 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward had several good scoring attempts and picked up an assist on Darryl Bootland's goal. Spiewak is a speedy skater, and he did an excellent job killing key penalties in the third period. Quote
willki Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 We'll take care of him here in Charleston. Don't be surprised if he doesn't want to leave. Quote
