  1. These arguments are getting a little ridiculous. If UND wins / keeps it close even, does it help their football team? Yes it does. Don't get me wrong, but some kids want to go to a program that has a chance at winning. UND can prove they are on par with NDSU and that would be huge. Does NDSU have anything to gain? Yes they do. Say they come out and beat UND by 35pts. In the bandwagon fans eyes, that won't be a big enough spread. In the coaches eyes, it shows recruits of both schools who is superior right now. Will that change over time, yes it will, because, despite what Lakes' posse says, NDSU will not be #1 forever and win 100 games in a row. At some point you come back to the pack. Either way, it is a win win for both communities and universities. The crowd will be electric, and I guarantee this "non" rivalry game will be louder than most playoff games at the dome. So let's get back on topic of the FCS Polls and talk about why no voters have mistaken UND for NDSU this year
  2. Has anyone seen the purge? Just imagine the 12 hours after, for the NDSU coaches and players, if UND beats NDSU next year (and breaks the streak!) All those "We Want Bama" bandwagon fans, led by Lakes would enforce the purge on Bison in the Fargo area. From what I have heard, most "NDSU" Fans want this game and are expecting to lose at some point. All of the "Band wagon fans" want nothing to do with UND and are scared to death of losing any game, let alone to UND. In there eyes, the Bison could compete with the worst team in the NFL, and they will throw out any stat to help their case.
  3. It's more of the current "Made up conference rival." Kind of like someone on here posted Montana is your Conference rival.
  4. This topic is the reason I would rather read SS than Bville. Usually Bville has 6 posters that post on every topic and know everything there is to know about everything. It looks like we have a couple here. The problem with the game is the fans. Right now, not 1 team is focusing on this game. UND is playing the #6 team in the country and NDSU is playing their current rival. Again, come the start of next season, the teams still won't focus on the game. They will worry about it in the week leading up to it. UND will be up for the game as Bubba has experienced this rivalry and that will show to the players. NDSU coaches haven't, but look at the games they have been a part of in the last 4 years. NDSU fans might be worried about a loss, but I'm sure the players will treat it like business as usual, and right now, business is booming.
  5. Hey Guys, I'm a first time poster, but long time reader. I am not the die hard fan of either school, but a casual fan. I have more ties to UND (my dad played basketball their, my mom, and wife all attended UND. I was good friends with Coach Moody also. Was also recruited to play basketball ball at UND, a long time ago.) However, I am also a fan of NDSU (not a troll)! I had friends in high school that had season tickets so I attended every Bison home game for about 3 years. I will admit that I have really enjoyed the success of NDSU the past 4 years, and am really hoping UND can get back to challenging the Bison. A good step would be this weekend. Is Montana as good as MSU offensively? Not sure, I will say the Griz have played teams that are better at D then MSU have. Montana does have a much better D than MSU does. If UND continues to turn it over, or not get 1st downs, they will be in a world of hurt on Saturday. The D needs to bring it, and if UND wants to win, Montana can not get more than 14. Even if there is a pick 6, the D can only give up 7. UND will have a tough time putting up 14 on the Griz D, but 14 is going to be that magic number to have a chance to win, IMO. BTW, I love reading gfhockeys posts.
