  1. Hard to tell....first games of the season are always strange. I'm sure he would love a lopsided score but don't expect it to be classless. Both teams have a lot to work on and neither really lit up the scoreboard last year. If the score is lopsided....it will be due to execution and not classless plays etc.

I doubt there will be as much fans as last year's opener with Montana and with it being a holiday weekend...might not be as much students.

Here's to a great injury free game.....

  2. This is incorrect.  The MWC allows each school to set their own broadcast schedule and contracts.  That's why Air Force has all of their games on the ESPN Network (except their 1st game which is on Root).  Boise has a handful of games on ESPN but a majority of their conference games are on CBSSN.

The one thing the conference is pushing hard is their streaming service with Campus Insiders.  They just went through a big change from Volar to CI for their streaming services.  While it is a downgrade (Volar went out of business) they are still pushing any non-televised events to the web.

This is on Wyoming and their inability to put the game on the web.  I'm surprised they don't just take their in-house video feed, mix it with radio and use that, since they have to provide video for official replay purposes.

I was hacked!.... Or maybe just stand corrected regarding the streaming on non televised content:

"The MWN will also endeavor to carry streams from the games that currently remain untelevised and may be produced or streamed by the host institution or a local television provider. "

  3. every NDSU game is on tv. Every home game has been on TV for a long time. Even against Incarnate Word. Hell, even we have our home games televised and have for years. Why is this not the case for WYO?

I believe it is due to the TV rights per the conference and the ownership of said broadcasting rights. Could be completely wrong and I'm pissed it isn't available but I think there are more issues at play.  I'm not sure a similar model to what UND/NDSU has is allowed....again...could be 100% wrong.

  4. If they do beat Wyoming, it won't count as an FBS win. I hear you should be able to blow out any FBS team that is going through a coaching change and lost their quarterback and most of their other starters. If they don't beat Wyoming by 20 if should be considered a disappointment.

hmmm not sure what to say about that one

  5. I don't understand why they don't just move the "divider" "trashbag" whatever it is up so it doesn't block the top part of the board.  I also do not understand why 25% of the board is almost always taken up with the next home game information/scores.  Why don't they just do some sort of ticker across the bottom to keep people updated? It seems to be a waste of space to have it up the whole game.

*The board is nice but I feel it can be better implemented for game day.

  6. To me Reyes is the guy I am most excited to see, he is a guy that could be a face of this team for the next few years. It is nice to hear rumblings around that the younger players are stepping up into somewhat of a leadership role in certain areas as that is huge in my opinion. I am taking offense for a grain of salt right now because it is all new termanology and they probably have a couple starting OL transferring in for fall semester but that Safety position in paticular I am hearing consistently good things about. That is so damn refreshing to me.

I am starting to see some of the punch you in the mouth defense we have been missing and that is what I am mostly taking out of this spring. The fact the Bubba has gotten the buy in from a lot of the players makes this a successful spring regardless of the outcome.

I hope so.....the defense I saw last year threw very few punches.....nothing better than watching defensive football knowing guys will keep bringing it all four quarters rather than taking a punch and laying down.......already excited

  7. I don't think you get it. And I'm not sure you will.

All due respect. ....so guys lifting in the wellness....apparently aren't being worked hard enough. So I guess I dont get it. Not knocking guys for working hard but a d1 athlete should have off season workouts that are intense to the point prescribed rest periods are needed-required for optimal gains. If they are doing workouts created for their specific needs at a regular student facility....why...doesn't make sense for a d1 football program.

  8. For those who think that the football players need to put in on your own work. I can guarentee that a lot, especially the younger FR guys have put in a lot of work. I see Norberg, Wharton, Reyes, Meindel, Williams, Rattelle and Bridges plus others at Wellness all the time lifting or playing basketball. The younger guys are definatly putting in the work and coincedently I don't see alot of the older guys, i see Walker, Henson, Cummings now and than but thats about it.

Sure I'll get ripped by folks saying they lift daily but......why aren't they lifting in the football weight room? Concerns me these guys are doing this.....they should be exhausted from prescribed workouts...understand bball but...I wonder if their strength staff is aware of off day weights etc.....Although im sure the eye candy is much better!

  9. My point was that "lifting" not extra conditioning etc should be tailored to the individual with specific rest times etc.....they all should be "going the extra mile" pushing to the brink......if he isnt pushed to the brink....the strength staff isnt pushing him enough during training sessions. Extra technique.....extra cardio etc is understood but extra lifts? He should be pushed to his limit by his taylored program......wasn't implying players shouldn't go the extra mile.....just saying that if a guy is lifting on off days etc.....he isnt being pushed hard enough with his program....I realize time constraints etc can play into that. Wasn't meant to knock anyone.

  10. No matter what Baukol has them doing they need to do extra on their own. Why do you think Rattele is such a beast? He lifts on his own all the time in addition to with the team.

if he lifts on his own....that is a glaring statement to not doing enough....it's D1 football...they should have everything scheduled and planned to not cause players lifting on their own
  11. Urine drug screen....state and federal criminal background checks, pass on fingerprinting....mother's maiden name, name of first pet, and the name of the street where you grew up!!!

Is there anyway to get some alert when this is announced....I have a meeting tonight and I am chair. One item of business and I told them 15 minutes. But I also have to sew a dress for Mary for the church Christmas program....checking this every hour or two for a week, come on!!!

And I still say with paying TWO people, someone should have had positive, frequent contact with the players...we all know how to do that without revealing anything....

    this is a mess

    what will be, will be

    +1

  12. Does the GFPD come into play as well to rule out any gang related tattoos on the candidates? And blood work? Altru on stand by with a phlebotomist? Am I missing anything....

Not sure either one of those agencies would do a steller job either...Altru would have you wait three days for one to show up!........seriously though....just interviewed today? ???

  13. I would think that possibly the only coach to have ever won a Nat'l Championship here and is also an alumni here (wants UND to be as successful as all of us do) possibly recommended either of his cordinators if contacted by Faison???

I understand that........the fact there has yet to be an actual coach named is the part I was referring to.

  14. Ok, I have been trying to be as patient as possible in the hiring process, but this is starting to get ridiculious. I am assuming that they new Muss was getting let go and had a short list of potiential candidates, then came the "public job posting" period. There isn't any reason the announcement should have taken this long and will only put the new staff at a even greater disadvantage in the recruiting process. With so much uncertainty and so little time to recruit, this is setting the program back further than it needs to be.

    this^

And if it is between the two guys on the same team.............what would you think as a player? hmm?
