  1. Cagguila-Johnson-Wilkie

    Boeser-Schmaltz-Poganski

    Chyzyk-St. Clair-Gersich

    Janatuinen-Olson-Simo

    Poolman-Stetcher

    Thompson-Ladue

    Ausmus-Shaw

    Reasoning:

1st line- I like the thought of pairing 2 of our known commodities with an incoming frosh in Wilkie.  From the reports I've seen on Wilkie it seems like he has a ton of talent to match with speed.  His one knock is inconsistent effort level.  I think we match him up with the two solid vets and they don't allow him to do anything except go all out.

2nd line- My favorite line as it has a little bit of everything.  Boeser is the shooter, Schmaltz is the playmaker, Poganski adds a bit of grit and has no qualms about going hard to the net and cleaning up some of the shots Boeser will be ripping.

3rd line- Chyzyk and St. Clair developed some good chemistry together.  I see no reason to break the two apart.  Throw in some scoring from Gersich and we have ourselves a strong effort line with some playmaking ability.

4th line- Honestly, just see what happens.

1st D Pairing- Love the thought of Poolman and Stetcher together.  Could be one of the most dangerous pairing in the nation.

    2nd Pairing- See 1st pairing.

3rd Pairing- Ausmus is a solid defender and el capitan.  Pair him with a freshman to mitigate some risk.

  2. The company has to report the non-delayed-payment for those action to take place.  They arent reporting because they arent going to bite the hand that feeds them even if the food truck is coming late.

I guess the bigger question is why would UND knowingly break the law. Or they just know they wont be reported? Thanks. Youve brought up a very interesting legal quagmire.

I suggest you contact the AG then.  Let me know how it works out for you.

  3. Contractor---as in construction correct?  Its not construction related.

Well, I suppose its a good thing that the Prompt Pay Act doesn't only apply to contractors on construction projects but also any entity that provides goods or services to a public entity.  Theres only two ways that it doesn't apply:

    1. The original contract that was agreed upon set out a payment schedule.  Your buddy's buddy would have to agree to this

    or

    2. There is litigation involved.  Which means your buddy's buddy screwed up and they are going to court.  If the courts find that your buddy's buddy wasn't at fault he would receive his full payment plus monthly interest that accrues at 1.75% per month or 21% per year.

Bro, you're wrong.  Give it up.

  4. As a commercial lender I would find this very hard to believe.  Can't imagine a contractor not filing a mechanic's lien on a project they didn't get paid for.  On top of that, North Dakota has a law called the Prompt Pay Act which states that contractors must get paid within 45 days of completed work on public projects.  The law also states the a general contractor is required to pay any subcontractor within 45 days of receiving payment from the public entity.  So in conclusion, your "source" is full of crap.

    Drops mic, walks off.

  5. Quarterback play is beyond bad.  Approaching horrible.  Run game suffers because nobody is afraid of the passing attack.  Basically, its man up on the outside and stack the box to stop the run.  Blitz on passing downs.  We are being dared to throw the football and we can't do it.

  6. As a football referee, the hit on Arnell was as dirty of a football play as you can have.  I'm not saying he did it with malice but that is irrelevant.  Its a dirty play.  Its an illegal play.  Unfortunately, its going to have a serious impact on a promising players ability to continue playing this game.  Again, I'm not saying the NDSU guy did what he did on purpose.  I imagine what happened was not his intent and that he was more than likely aiming at the hip.  Unfortunately, that was not the end result.

  7. The "slowdown" has been a blessing out West.  Its allowed contractors to catch up on some work which has resulted in bid prices for new projects to come back in line with realistic projections.  I've heard drops on bids by as much as 10-15%.  Also, it's been a blessing for the cost of housing.  6 months ago housing prices in Minot were 20% higher than the regional average.  Today the Chamber of Commerce released the economic outlook and it was 6% higher than the regional average.  That is HUGE.

I also have more than a few friends that out in the patch in managerial positions that have told me the people that think there is a bust are complete idiots that don't know what they are talking about.  These are guys that work for the big boys.  Baker Hughes, Continental, WPX esc.  All have stated to me that this thing isn't going anywhere.  Some of the wells producing now have a break even point of $20-25 per barrel due to the efficiencies that have been put in place.  If oil gets back up to $80 this place is going to go nuts again but hopefully without the strain on the infrastructure that existed the first time around.

Not to burst any bubbles about the cracker plant but I also have some information regarding that.  The cracker plants is going to be located in either Minot or Mandan.  Mandan has the advantage of some pipelines the plant would need.  Minot has the advantage of the Port of North Dakota which is being constructed on the west side of town (biggest railroad hub between Seattle and Chicago).  I believe MDU will also be announcing a refinery is going to be built in the Port of North Dakota sometime in the very near future.

  8. pretty sure that any of the above would have won a national title at und given the same tools and resources hak was given over and 11 year span...

This is a dumb argument.  The Yankees have more resources than anyone and they suck right now (by Yankee standards).  Why doesn't Oregon win championships in football?  Why has Michigan football done so poorly lately?  USC?  Michigan hockey has great resources but they've been mediocre lately.  The Gophers have the most resources on the talent side of recruiting than anyone but they haven't been winning it either.  On the flip side of things Providence and Union don't have nearly as many resources as other guys but they have both won.

You're oversimplifying things to a fault.  You can't just throw out money and resources at something and it magically happens.  Chemistry, development, and most of all luck need to be in your favor.
