  1. A player to watch on the Omaha U16 AAA team is Lawton Courtnall, he is (10-15-25) in 28 games.

The California Titans U16 AAA team have two players just under 60 points. Jake Hamacher 5'6" 134 (13-45-58) in 28 games, and Ethan Somoza 5'10" 156 (41-16-57) in 27 games. The U16 team have two goalies over 6 feet. Trevin Kozlowski 6'2" 160 (11-2-1) 1.94GAA .924 SV% 2 shutouts, and Patrik Jokela (Finland) 6'1" 140 (10-3-1) 2.07GAA .920 SV% 3 shutouts. On the California Titans U18 AAA team. Defenseman Mikko Kivinen (Finland) 6'2" 190 (2-12-14) in 27 games.

I happen to be looking at the Indiana Jr. Ice, their goalies jumped out at me because of their size. Reid Simpson 6'5" 205 (7-7-4) 1.71GAA 2 shutouts, and Chase Munroe 6'3" 215 (10-7-0) 1.88GAA. They also have a forward from Sweden, Razmuz Waxin-Engback 5'11" 195 (14-24-38).

    Little Caesars U18 AAA team; Blake Christensen (forward) 5'10" 155 (18-24-42) in 2011-12 (10-13-23). Shane Bednard (forward) 5'11" 162 (9-25-34) in 2011-12 (14-16-30). Garrison Sanipass (forward) 6'5' 220 (12-12-24) in 2011-12 (10-11-21). Maksim Dzhioshvili (forward, Russia) 6'4" 195 (5-11-16) in 2011-12 (10-10-20). Josh Smith (forward) 6'6' 250 (4-7-11) in 2011-12 (4-25-29).

  2. It has nothing to do with this weekend. It just happens, Michigan Tech and Michigan might have close to the same record when they play each other in the GLI. Michigan Tech is (4-8-3) overall and (3-6-3) in the WCHA, while Michigan is (5-8-2) overall and (3-6-2) CCHA.

  3. No one has said much about North Dakota kids lately that haven't committed. Two I'm hopeful that find their way to Grand Forks.

~Jordan Nelson of the Fargo Force (Williston) has 12 points in 22 games, and is second on the team in shots on goal, with a +/- of +4.

Mason Morelli of the Minot Tauros (Minot) has 9 points in 22 games, but is minus 7 in the plus minus area.

I believe this is Nelson's last year of Juniors while Morelli is only a Junior in high school. I'm thinking its more likely Morelli ends up in Grand Forks (with a Grandpa and dad with ties it helps), but I'm holding out hope that a kid like Nelson could be a four year role guy for UND that gives his heart and soul every shift.

Spencer Kuhlman is a defenseman from Grand Forks on Shattuck St. Mary's AA team (2-4-6) this season.

  4. Is the only one on the team that scores or what..... :) and Yes shattuck as big sized kids for their ages. Greenway would be huge but I am sure many r after him would be my guess

Nolan Patrick is the 5th leading scorer on the Winnipeg Hawks. Dylan Thiessen plays on the Monarchs is (25-15-40) in 17 games. Thiessen plays in the same league as Patrick.

Cam Maclise is tied for 2nd in scoring in the AJHL, he is 6'4" 195 (11-33-44) on the season. 2010-2011 he was (26-25-51), 2011-2012 he was (32-50-82). He has two teammates tied for 4th in scoring in the AJHL, Mark Reners (19-18-37) this season, 2011-2012 he was (41-36-77); Dakota Mason (14-23-37) this season, 2011-2012 he was (12-26-38). Two guys I've mentioned Shane Pilling (age 19) is 6th in scoring in the AJHL and Maddison Smiley (age 18) is tied for 9th in scoring in the AJHL. None of these guys are recruited yet Maclise, Reners, and Mason are 20 this year.

  5. For sure has some great size to him. Know anything else about him or the others u listed Let's get that Russian...

Georgy Gorodetsky last year on the AA team (42-31-72). Kevin Dineen last year on the AA team (39-51-90) this year on the U16 team (19-19-38). Tyler Vesel was talked about in overtheboards.net http://overtheboards.net/?p=463. on the 2011-2012 Prep team (29-45-74) this year he's (16-22-38) on the Prep team. Three others to look at Alex Falconer 2011-2012 AA team (30-31-61) 2012-2013 Prep team (3-7-10), Max Becker 2011-2012 Prep team (34-36-70) 2012-2013 Prep team (10-22-32), Alex Rodriguez 2012-2013 AAA team (34-37-74) 2012-2013 Prep team (11-10-21).

  6. Jordan Greenway is (13-28-41) on the U16 team at Shattuck-St.Mary's. It looks like he has a brother that play's on the Bantam team at Shattuck, JD Greenway (5-12-17). Clayton Keller on the Bantam team at Shattuck also is (20-28-48). Georgy Gorodetsky on Shattuck's AAA team (21-29-50)

  7. Since there has been some talk in the North Dakota vs. DU topic about Kaip, McMahon, Prpich, and Zach Jones. Whitecourt Wolverines in the AJHL have three guys Mathieu Guertin (23-25-48) leads the AJHL, Jerome Raymond (24-20-44) second in the AJHL, and Mathieu Gagnon (3-15-18) that will drop the gloves if need be. Guertin is 5'11" 184 can hold his own in a fight. Gagnon is 6'2" 216 in a video on youtube if one of his teammates gets ran into the boards illegally, he'll fight the opposing player. Raymond is 6'0" 190 and plays physical. One problem in recruiting them is they all played in the QMJHL before comming to the AJHL.

  8. Im sure if he's good enough we must be interested in dillons brother?? Out of curiosity are there any other brothers of current players or kids of former Sioux that are out there that could play at this level? If anyone happens to know! Thanks

I think Bryn Chyzyk has a brother. Adam Panzarella follows guys on the team, might be Andrew's brother.

  9. Dillon's brother?

It looks like there is two Riley Simpson's the one that was a reserve player for the Brooks Bandits plays at Ohio State but is not Dillon's brother. For some reason he is listed as a reserve player for the Bandits.

Dillon's brother is in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League playing for SSAC Boston Pizza Athletics. He is (11-19-30) in 18 games.

  10. Riley Simpson in 18 games is (11-19-30) and is tied with Madison Dunn (10-20-30) in 17 games in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League. Madison Dunn was just added to the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL. Riley Simpson is a reserve player of the Brooks Bandits, in 2010 (16-18-34) in 58 games, in 2011 (35-41-76) in 59 games.

  11. Namely because the Gophers over recruited forwards for 2013 so the need for them in 2014 isn't as high. That's why some are questioning the space issue. They have no senior forwards, but will probably lose a couple early, and they are still bringing in at least 5 forwards next year.

Then take in account of the Mr. Hockey candidates each year.

  12. Just because Gersich's family went to MInnesota doesn't mean he wants to go there. I'll be optimistic and say he comes to UND. I also believe UND has a chance to recruit any of the top players in Minnesota, not just the Gophers.

  13. Via MN Hockey Hub article

Schools that have shown interest in Connor Hurley: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Minnesota-Duluth, Michigan State, Ohio State, Denver and Nebraska-Omaha.... no UND?

UND is one of the schools Shane Gersich has visted but most feel he will end up at Minnesota because he has a lot of family ties to UM. I believe his father played there and he is the nephew of Neal, Aaron and Paul Broten.

With that said, I certainly won't complain if one or both surprises and picks UND.

I got a feeling Shane Gersich will come to UND. Jake Guentzel is going to Nebraska-Omaha and not Minnesota where his dad played and is a coach. Ian McCoshen didn't have Boston College as his top three and he ended up going there.

  14. Man you got all the info. I like looking up possible recruits or just up and coming players.. U truly think Gersich will come to UND Why? Family ties or something. 50/50 on Hurley is opposite from what I heard from others. Landing both of them would be amazing. U think that European flavor will happen

Minnesota is the biggest competition for Gersich and Hurley, but i don't see where the gophers have room to bring them in (only one senior on the team this year), and with how many players are committed. I also think the team should have 3 goalies that are able to be starters, like DU this year. I'd like to see more europeans come to UND. I look at it, if the coaches can get players to come from junior "A" teams in europe. It can create a pipeline of talent to UND, if BU and Maine can do it why not UND.

  15. Dang he has some good numbers. How did Vermont get him? That would be pretty if that's why Martin send his kids to Shattuck? Conner Hurley would be sweet 2 but i would say no chance on getting him

I think Shane Gersich will come to UND. Brooks Bandits have a team that putting up good numbers, the team is 25-1 on the year. I'll say Conner Hurley is a 50/50 shot at the moment. Comrose Kodiaks rookie Brett Njaa started out strong he's (8-11-19) AJHL leading scorer, Whitecourt Wolverines forward Mathieu Guertin (23-21-44) his teammate Jerome Raymond is second in the AJHL scoring (21-18-39)
