  1. Michigan Tech wins the GLI first time since 1980
  2. BC looks like it going through the motions, but Michigan Tech vs. Western Michigan has been good so far.
  3. I thought the first one shouldn't have counted
  4. I think Ryan MacInnis will have UND as one of his top schools, but he might be like Seth Jones last year, I'd like to see MacInnes come to UND. Jordan Greenway is one I think will come here. TJ Moore might follow one of his linemates, if I know more of what schools he's interested in then I'd say he'll come here. So TJ Moore is on the bubble for me along with Gropp, I'll say UND has a shot with both. Tanner MacMaster is one I'm hoping commits to UND, Brett Njaa is second to MacMaster in scoring on Camrose Kodiaks. Njaa from what I read on a game report on Okotoks Oilers bolg (Oil Spill) on November 9th . Dakota Mason and Madison Smiley from the Brooks Bandits could end up being two big offensive (Mason) and Defensive (Smiley) pick ups. Another Brook Bandits forward, just happens to be friends with Chris Wilkie, Madison Dunn in 14 games is (8-3-11). Dylan Malmquist (Edina) Ryan Swanson (Holy Family) and John Peterson (Holy Family) are three guys I'd be looking hard at also. Depending on how goal tending recruits go next two years I would be looking at Anthony and Jeremy Brodeur and Luke Kania (these three would be around 2015 recruits due to age). For the next two seasons Michael Fredrick, Curtis Skipp, Nick Kulmanovsky, Arthur Brey, and Jan Obernesser. Fredrick is a steal to me, Kulmanovsky and Skipp are quality goalies and UND can't go wrong with those two, Brey is a goalie that I see going to a team where he is the starting goalie at the start of the season, If Obernesser gets playing time on Sioux Falls over Charlie Lindgren and and plays like he did last year on the Brooks Bandits (AJHL Title) Lindgren will be watching from the bench.
  5. I was wondering how big Goehring was, Fredrick would be a steal and bring him in next year and learn from Clarke and Zane. Fredrick has shown he can be called on when he is needed. The big question is does UND go with 3 or 4 goalies?
  6. Found a story on Brooks Bandits goalie Michael Fredrick. http://www.ajhl.ca/media-centre/news-archives.html?newsID=1973 Goalies Devon Fordyce of the Brooks Bandits and Kenny Cameron of the Spruce Grove Saints played in the WHL.
  7. I mentioned some in "Prospective Recruits" Not sure if UND is looking at them.
  8. Christian Evers, 9 GP, 1-9-10
  9. Every time Gersich gets a point, John Peterson and Ryan Swanson are on the score sheet with him.
  10. My dad said this same thing to me, he went to the University of Minnesota (he's from Richfield MN). He said if he was one of these kids that are good enough to play college hockey, he would have gone to North Dakota because of the size of the campus. Now if I was as good as Shane Gersich when I played I would have chose North Dakota or similer size school. Instead i decided to spend about six years in the U.S. Navy. When it came to college's for me, I chose Montana State because of their engineering program (I grew up in Bismarck). Now back on topic.
  11. Called it!
  12. I went back to the last time Minnesota made the Frozen Four after they won their 5th title that was the 2004-05 season and again in the 20011-12 season. Now lets start from the 2003-04 season Minnesota made the NCAA tournament 6 times and of those 6 NCAA tournaments, Minnesota made the Fozen Four twice. From the 2003-04 season North Dakota has made the NCAA tournament 9 times and in those 9 NCAA tournaments North Dakota was in the Froze Four 5 times and made it to the title game once.
  13. Well North Dakota has 7 titles and Minnesota has 5 titles, also since Minnesota has only made it to the Frozen Four twice in that same strech North Dakota has been in the Frozen Four 5 years.
  14. A highly sought after 16 year old in the AJHL, Tanner MacMaster is going to be committing to a D1 school soon. Not sure what school's are looking at him, MacMaster is the higest scoring 16 year old in the AJHL (17-16-33) the next closest 16 year old in the AJHL is Cameron Hughes (6-12-18). http://www.calgaryhe...7647/story.html I happen to see a video of Chase Phelps who plays on Shattuck-St. Mary's Prep team this year, 2012-13 (17-15-32), 2011-12 (19-34-53), 2010-11 (25-34-59). I'm not sure if he has been recruited yet. https://www.youtube....h?v=uNBToZGUIbw https://www.youtube....h?v=cVOr1DTlusw T.J. Morore (Benilde-St. Margaret's) is one to keep a eye on, he is the only one on his line uncommitted. 2012-13 (3-4-7) in 4 games, 2011-12 (28-40-68), 2010-11 (17-20-37). Holy Family has two other guys to look at besides Shane Gersich. John Peterson 2012-13 (7-8-15), 2011-12 (22-41-63), 2010-11 and Ryan Swanson 2012-13 (3-8-11), 2011-12 (4-33-37).
  15. 2012-13 (10-7-17) 2.12 points per game 2011-12 (24-28-52) 1.93 points per game 2010-11 (22-16-38) 1.41 point per game

  17. Grimaldi from Caggiula and Rowney I'm thinking Grimaldi and Caggiula get hat tricks this weekend too
  18. Most of the time I got through College Hockey Inc.'s website, since they have links to most of the leagues. There is some leagues that I haven't looked into the OJHL and CCHL. BCHL at the moment looks like everyone is recruited in that league, but the AJHL has a lot of talent that is not recruited yet. Looking at how UND recruiting is done the coach's have set up where there is 3 forwards and 3 defenseman coming in next year from who is already recrutied (I could be wrong on that). It also looks like the coaches leave some openings to bring in guys right out of juniors that weren't recruited yet. I've been thinking about looking up goalies that are from Finland that play junior hockey and see what their numbers are. There might be another Olkinuora out there.
  19. Fargo and Shattuck St. Mary's do
  20. A player to watch on the Omaha U16 AAA team is Lawton Courtnall, he is (10-15-25) in 28 games. The California Titans U16 AAA team have two players just under 60 points. Jake Hamacher 5'6" 134 (13-45-58) in 28 games, and Ethan Somoza 5'10" 156 (41-16-57) in 27 games. The U16 team have two goalies over 6 feet. Trevin Kozlowski 6'2" 160 (11-2-1) 1.94GAA .924 SV% 2 shutouts, and Patrik Jokela (Finland) 6'1" 140 (10-3-1) 2.07GAA .920 SV% 3 shutouts. On the California Titans U18 AAA team. Defenseman Mikko Kivinen (Finland) 6'2" 190 (2-12-14) in 27 games. I happen to be looking at the Indiana Jr. Ice, their goalies jumped out at me because of their size. Reid Simpson 6'5" 205 (7-7-4) 1.71GAA 2 shutouts, and Chase Munroe 6'3" 215 (10-7-0) 1.88GAA. They also have a forward from Sweden, Razmuz Waxin-Engback 5'11" 195 (14-24-38). Little Caesars U18 AAA team; Blake Christensen (forward) 5'10" 155 (18-24-42) in 2011-12 (10-13-23). Shane Bednard (forward) 5'11" 162 (9-25-34) in 2011-12 (14-16-30). Garrison Sanipass (forward) 6'5' 220 (12-12-24) in 2011-12 (10-11-21). Maksim Dzhioshvili (forward, Russia) 6'4" 195 (5-11-16) in 2011-12 (10-10-20). Josh Smith (forward) 6'6' 250 (4-7-11) in 2011-12 (4-25-29).
  21. It has nothing to do with this weekend. It just happens, Michigan Tech and Michigan might have close to the same record when they play each other in the GLI. Michigan Tech is (4-8-3) overall and (3-6-3) in the WCHA, while Michigan is (5-8-2) overall and (3-6-2) CCHA.
  22. They played the 10th, 11th, and 12th place teams in the league.
  23. Rylan Schwartz got the game tieing goal, Gopher left him wide open.
  24. Spencer Kuhlman is a defenseman from Grand Forks on Shattuck St. Mary's AA team (2-4-6) this season.
  25. Nolan Patrick is the 5th leading scorer on the Winnipeg Hawks. Dylan Thiessen plays on the Monarchs is (25-15-40) in 17 games. Thiessen plays in the same league as Patrick. Cam Maclise is tied for 2nd in scoring in the AJHL, he is 6'4" 195 (11-33-44) on the season. 2010-2011 he was (26-25-51), 2011-2012 he was (32-50-82). He has two teammates tied for 4th in scoring in the AJHL, Mark Reners (19-18-37) this season, 2011-2012 he was (41-36-77); Dakota Mason (14-23-37) this season, 2011-2012 he was (12-26-38). Two guys I've mentioned Shane Pilling (age 19) is 6th in scoring in the AJHL and Maddison Smiley (age 18) is tied for 9th in scoring in the AJHL. None of these guys are recruited yet Maclise, Reners, and Mason are 20 this year.
