  1. I believe Dale (judging by your post) was talking about the GLAIC not NSIC (Winona). The GLIAC top teams (and NCC), with play-off hopes all play each other in the last two weeks. Winona would have be playing for the conference championship had CSP not lost to Wayne State.
  2. I would say that even if Winona suffers a loss in the last two week they are a lock. Over half the teams still in position to make the play-offs play one another, so 3 or 4 additonal teams will also lose in the next two weeks. Couple that with the "earn entry" thing and I would think they are a lock.
  3. UND92,96 - Good breakdown of my post...I can respect that! Good Luck in Omaha, they are really starting to gel!
  4. Thank you SioxFan48, that pretty much sums up my point...ten gallon ego hat on a two gallon head.
  5. Jim is your ssi correct for Northwood? It looks like you gave them 13 pts for a loss on the road? I thought the only game that scored 13pts was a win at home to a team with a winning percentage above .700? Sorry I can't find the ncaa pt schedule I had... Edit: Forget it, it says 8 pts, I'm not sure were 13 come from...sorry
  6. UND will benefit from a road win against USD, like Winona benefited from a road win against BSU. USD's winning percentage (.700+) is inflated by playing NAIA, D3 and weak nonconference D2 schools, so it sort of works itself out in the end. Remember, Winona gets penalized in many ways because of playing in the NSIC, because their are so many poor teams there is less opportunity to get big points for beat teams with .500 or .700+ records. Remember UND will score a lot of points in the last couple of weeks, were Winona only has one game to score decent points. You'll be fine. Though I will say I find it amazing that so many are disgruntled by Winona. Winona is no longer a much inferior team to UND, remember you only beat Winona with less than a minute left at home. And "the Al" is arguably one of the toughest places to play in nation, so I guess I would be worried to have to actually play Winona on the road. The teams you should be most frustrated with are the Glaic teams. You smoke one and two of their top teams lose and stay in front of you. Though this will work itself out as well because the big hitters are starting to play one another. A very strong UND team has been $hitting shamrocks for years, you'll be just fine at the end of the year. Good Luck! Todd Burns
  7. I agree with that statement, but why make it even tougher by trying to do it on the road. I'm glad Winona is following through on this philosophy, but at least we get a shot at home next year (well hopefully in the play-offs this year )
  8. This was a needed and positive change for DII football for multiple reasons. The first being D1aa schools should be expected to win so why penalize a team so drastically, at least schools can take a shot and not have to worry about losing valuable play-offs. Another positive that really goes hand-in-hand with that is guarantees. Most D1aa schools can offer more, making it a good way to boost scholarship funds for schools who need the help, like Winona. It also opens up scheduling options for the top schools no one wants to visit (I.E. UND at the Alerus) or geographically challenged universities (TAMUK). It really worked in Winona
  9. UND92,96 Thanks for the update on your WR and DL. I was only going off the roster and what I heard via the last web cast. I was not at the Concordia game, but it sounds as though Winona played horrible and Concordia had a ton of breaks go their way. Winona really is a much better team than Concordia. It was a huge upset (last year we won like 50 - 10) but that as we all know is way we play the games. Its probably like NDSU beating Montana this year, you line the same two teams up ten times and Montana (Winona) wins nine if not all ten. The point being upsets happen. Would Winona beating UND be an upset yes, but I just don't see the huge gap between UND/WSU. Upset yes, no question, but would it be considered the shock of the century
  10. Lets get into some of the specifics in this #1 vs. #2 match-up
