Thank you. I didn't know what to expect with this team coming into the year becasue our goaltending was such a huge qustion mark. But Miska has played so well and we've got great players contributing to a deep team. I'm enjoying the season. Agreed a 100%, Frozen Four or it will be a disappointment, but hockey is a fluky thing so they could very well be one and done. We'll see...:)

Yup! UND has traditionally had UMD's number. Even in our best years UMD didn't do well against UND or was just above .500 against them. Crazy right?

Johnson allowed 5 goals...although 2 didn't count but that sure didn't help his confidence.

Interesting to know though that before UMD swept in October, the last time that happened was at the old Ralph in 1996. (IIRC) Seriously though I'd be really happy with split. This UMD team has come back to earth but I still have high hopes for them this year.

Each week I get more and more impressed with UMD. This weekend at SCSU they gave up the first goal within the first minute and both nights scored 3 goals in third period to win. It's early but they're the favorite to win the Penrose and maybe the national title.

Didn't see that coming at all...they've been so bad against UND recently and now they've got 3 in a row. First sweep of UND since 1995 and first in Duluth since 1992. That's sad. But goddamn did that win feel great and the crowd was loud!

Because UND is 6-1 at Amsoil and UMD lost to the Under 18 Team last weekend. THEY LOST TO CHILDREN WHO CAN'T BUY CHEWING TOBACCO!

Good point that UND playing the Gophers next weekend could hurt attendance. Although I'm sure people who don't want to pay the money that UMTC is charging might be willing to pay UMD's prices. Pretty cool that this is a rare 1 v 2 matchup...even if I'm pessimistic about UMD's chances and we are probably overrated.

Hehe, well despite feeling very confident for the Frozen Faceoff game last March, I'm not looking forward to this weekend. Usually I am but with how UMD's played against UND recently and in their own home building is embarrassing. I'm tired of UMD splitting at best and want them to sweep or at least take the majority of points on the weekend. Sadly I doubt that will happen. Question for people here, do you find the ticket prices or package for the games too much? There's a good number of tickets left which tells me the prices are too high. I believe they are up a little bit from last year. If anyone needs suggestions on sights, food or bar recommendations please let me know. There is some great food options in town

If UMD scores a goal in each game it will be a moral victory weekend.

I guess they do, three years in though things are better than anyone could have anticipated for the conference. The strategy of having a "super conference" is working.
