  1. From what I have heard, the first DeBoer knew about interest from NDSU was when the Fargo Forum called him the week before their National Championship game...it was all rumor being driven by the Fargo Forum. Kalen thought they had the story mixed up and were really wondering about one of his assistants. Riggs had decided before last season he would coach one more year at USF and call it quits when Lorenzo Brown was done. Morrell decided to take a break to look into some individual business ventures. Bohl never contacted DeBoer
  2. Been watching the game all afternoon and hoping SDSU could hold on....offense couldn't move the ball.
  3. 55-48 Montana went ahead with 1:08 to play....
  4. my guess is that it was JK as Muss didn't appear to change anything other than give MM the Asst title
  5. MM was a GA when they played if I remember correctly. But, it all boils down to 3-4 guys we are talking about which Kelling is not. My point is, the defense is not playing up to the standards that we were used to seeing. MM is in a position to call the defense if Muss would give him the chance. The three names would all be good and I wouldn't argue that for a minute. SIU seems to be doing pretty well with their season and their 3-4 looks pretty familiar to the defenses that UND was putting on the field and winning NCC championships.
  6. Kotelnicki, Schmidt, Anderson all learned the system under one of the coaches who are currently on staff right now.........Mannausau, who in turn played and coached with Lennon. Has that thought entered into anyone's minds?
  7. I think because of the way you just rationalized the play calling, many people do the same and consequently MM is the fall guy. This is as far from the truth as you can get. I can go along with what Muss was doing with allowing JK the play calling responsibilities but at what point do you say enough is enough, what you are doing isn't working and then hand it over to the most qualified person on the staff and let him take off with it. Here's a thought, should it have happened against USF?
  8. I agree with those thoughts completely but do you think MM doesn't know the 3-4? It basically boils down to JK calling the defense and he doesn't know the 3-4, he's a 4-3 guy from Augie who went way back with Mussman. We could save alot of time and energy and give the play calling to Mannausau as I am pretty sure we would see many of the same things we were used to seeing before Kelling came into the mix.
  9. Are we thinking this because he is a Dale Lennon disciple?
  10. How much money did Bentrim make playing in the NFL?
  11. And if you think about all of the times a defense is thinking run and a pass play follows or vice versa, it is way too difficult. Maybe inheriting JK from Augie was the best thing that Augie ever could have done to UND. I have been told that Augie is still shocked that he was hired at UND in the first place.
  12. I didn't mean to infer the defense was the only reason and you are completely correct in saying it was a team loss. I figured JK was calling the defense as the defense has been lacking the qualities and traits that it had when we turned the corner in the mid 90's and won a national championship with. In my mind, if MM was calling the shots, USF would not have scored 28, we would have created some turnovers, sacks, etc. And adjustments would have been made between series and halftime......
  13. I think the biggest question of having the co-coordinators is who is calling the defense?
