  1. I agree that's an awesome jersey. Here's the ridiculous logo on the Stars' former 3rd jersey.

I get the bull/Texas relationship but the rest of it is just a stupid mystery. We just referred to it as the fallopian tube jersey and avoided buying it.

  2. oh boy! ;) well UND will probably know what UMC felt those few years we beat them like a rented mule in the late '90's. :D Thanks for coming on and being a class act RaiderMan! I'm sure our guys will have a great time down in Lubbock - it's an experience most of our older players could never have imagined when they first signed on at UND...and will never forget regardless of the outcome. Thanks!

It's been my pleasure. Ya'll have a great site and I appreciate the hospitality. ;)

  3. "Osgood outsucked Turco this past season!"

Now that is saying something because Turco was terrrrrrrrirrrble most of the season. Some buddies and I take a trip up north about every other year to follow the Stars around for a few games. We usually focus on the Canadian teams. Last trip we took was to Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. We also try to see any minor/junior league games on the off days so we saw a Calgary Hitmen game too. One of the guys suggested this year that we catch a game at Joe Louis but I don't think I could take an entire arena decked out in Red Wings paraphernalia. I'm lobbying against it with offers of free drinks at the first game in Canada.

  4. If the tables were turned, and I was travelling to North Dakota to see our Texas Tech hockey team face your Fighting Sioux, I would expect a very ugly score but still enjoy my visit to a unique place steeped in college hockey history. While our place in college football is not equal to your place in college hockey, Tech is a major D1 program and game day activities (and the game itself) will probably be much bigger than you have experienced. So enjoy it despite the score. The tailgating in Lubbock is awesome and the people are friendly (hopefully that includes Tech freshmen attending their first game).

Just be prepared for an ugly final score. Like a poster said above, Potts needs reps to prepare for Texas. Also, Leach does not take a knee...ever. He runs the same offense from beginning to end no matter the score. If the score is lopsided, he will replace starters with 2nd and 3rd team players but Leach won't deny those backups an opportunity to make plays or score TDs. So Leach will go for the endzone even in the final seconds of a lopsided game. He believes it is up to the defense to stop his offense. By the same token, we never complain about other teams "running up the score" on Tech. So please understand, if that happens, it is not out of disrespect for UND. It is just Leach being true to his philosophy about the game, whether or not you agree with it.

In summation, enjoy the experience and we won't be mad if ya'll soundly whip our ass. :D

  5. Oh, and the Wings suck! There's about a million of those failed Michigan Yankee bastards in Dallas now. Every time the Wings come to town half the people in our arena wear red. If only we could deport them...

  6. Looks like the Minn 3rd jersey was designed by the same unimaginative people who designed the the current (and terrible) Dallas Stars sweaters. The Stars give us throwback jerseys even though Dallas has no hockey history to throw back too (so to speak). They do not evoke any nostalgic feelings in the native Texans who have become hockey fans. To us they look like pajama tops. Then again, anything is better than the stupid "fallopian tube logo" 3rd jerseys we had a few years back.

  7. I went to the Gator Bowl too. Didn't enjoy most of the game but loved the ending. Attended it with a long-time friend who graduated from Stephen F. Austin Univ. (SFA) and was stationed in Pensacola. We had a blast. The Va fans were very, very arrogant for most of the game and especially at halftime. They ignored our warnings to sit tight until the final gun. I loved watching their "perp walk" out of our section when Tech hit that winning field goal. That was so satisfying.

  8. SiouxMeNow, I chose Tech because the women are so good looking. A&M likes to brag about their superior academic standards but, as you can see from the photo above, those standards come at a huge cost. Too huge in my opinion. Anyway, if you have any sort of game, you will find Tech women to be very friendly.
