  1. There are no half years. This is his junior year. Absent an injury, if you play at all in a season you have used up a year of eligibility.

True. It does sound like he has planned on returning for his senior year though.

  2. Will be there Saturday night with SRO tickets for wife, son and grandson

I will be there Friday and Saturday. The first two (live) games of the season for me! Lets Go SIOUX and I'll see ya at Sally's.

  3. I've followed Fla St. for a long time and i am not aware of this buying off the tribe as many like to state from time to time. I know I have stated this before in previous topics. The Seminole tribe approached the state legislature, many many years ago, in which they got the legislature to draw up a resolution that the name would always remain Seminoles at FSU. I've never heard any stories or seen any evidence in which any dollars were exchanged in return for accteptance of the name.

I've often heard that the Seminole tribe shares in merchandise sales by some sort of percentage. Any truth to this?

  4. Sounded pretty exciting. Two big points on the road against an always gritty team.

No college hockey on the TV here in the cities on Comcast or DirecTv. The Gophers were even pre-empted on FSN. But who would want to watch the #9 team in the WCHA anyway?

You can pay $8 a month more on Comcast and get all the Sioux homes games and all the Fox Sports channels.

  5. anyone else buy the webcast? i just logged on but it seems the radio feed is being used because i can't hear what they're talking about on the video. anyone?

I got same thing. Good feed though. Play by play guy might be Sweeney's cousin ???

  6. To all those saying we would have seen a fight with Marvin, or will see fighting anyways....guess again.

The players know better than to take themselves out of a Friday night game against Denver, especially with Genoway already potentially out. I'm sure we'll see a bunch of big hits, some jawing, and a few facewashes, but I doubt anyone would try and drop the gloves.

A few bells will be rung! Go Sioux

  7. It'll be interesting to see what our freshie fourth line puts up tonight. Hopefully all those guys click.

Unfortunately I'll be driving back home to ND from cake eater country, so I won't be able to watch the game. This makes me sad.

FYI for those living in MSP. You can start picking up Hennessy at around Fergus ( or so I've experienced)

  8. Personally, I don't care if Lucia has respect for the Sioux/Gopher rivalry. As a Sioux fan, it doesn't make a difference to me as I want the Sioux to beat the crap out of the Gophers each time they play. Same goes for every other team the Sioux play. I want the Sioux to win every game. I don't expect that to happen, just want it to happen. If Dean Blais were to coach there one day, I'd still want the same thing.

These coaches that whine about getting swore at at Sioux games would have been puddy in Bruce Tellman's hands.

    Love it

  9. He needs to. I'm wondering if he's gripping the stick too much or what, because with all the chances he's had, he should have one already. I think once he gets one, the floodgates may open for him.

I remeber when Jason Blake was at UND and he had a slow start to the year (199?). A bunch of us were very releived when he got the monkey off his back and the goals started coming. I think he scored against Tech to get it going.(?)

  10. guys like mario and others of his mold that we have had in the past are key additions to even making a national title run. hell you usually need 2 or 3 like him. great to see him doing so well

not sur if reported but davidson and hill didnt make the trip. so that makes bruneteau on the trip.

    go sioux!

AZ - your time threw me off. Forgot you folks don't do the time change thing.

  11. you mean the ones that skate around and then fall on the ice when they forget to step up to get off the ice? and then run up and down the stairs to smile and clap? and the ones who wonder why drunk college guys lean over to look up their skirts? They are funny!

OK, I know the cheer team is a bit of a joke and they are only really in it to be seen. How about the band then. I bet those crazy bastards could come up with some funny stuff to teach the kids/

  12. I have not read through all of the posts on this thread so if I am repeating I am sorry.

Crowd chants and crowd activity in general is IMO the responsibility of the cheer team. Our Sioux hockey team has a cheer team and from this fan's perspective are useless. they are prettyOK, maybe not useless, but ...

A friend of mine atended Kansas State for grad school after finishing up his undergrad at UND. Apparently, at KSU (and I'm sure countless other schools) students MUST attend "Cheer Orientation" before they are eligible for the purchase of student tickets. This was true for all sports. The cheerleaders took it upon themselves to teach the cheers to the incoming freshmen who wanted to attend Wildcat games.

I've always thought that this sort of thing could and should be implemented at UND. Also, newer more clever cheers could come out of this program.
