  1. That said, I think it's time that Genoway gives it the old college try (no pun intended). Pop an aspirin or two and suit up. If it doesn't work it doesn't work.

Head injuries are nothing to mess with. Until he has fully recovered, he should not play. If that means he does not come back until Feb, next year or not at all, so be it. We have to remember that even though Fighting Sioux hockey is important to us, it is not as important as Chay having a full recovery from this serious injury. Adding to this injury could have devastating effects for the rest of his life. We also have to be aware that one person does not make a team. One person certainly can have an impact on the team, which Chay does, but this is a team sport. Take a look at the Gophers. They have tons of talent but have not developed the team mentality and effort that it takes to be successful in college hockey, much less the WCHA.

Here's hoping Chay has a complete recovery from this injury!!

  2. I think some of us are going to try and buy some tickets from scalpers tonight. Hopefully they're decent seats and not too expensive!

Tickets should be real cheap tonight and really good seats. Several years ago when the gophers lost in the semi finals to St Cloud, we found center ice tickets for less than $10. Gopher fans won't go unless their team is playing.

  3. I agree, the less time I spend around Gopher fans the better.

I also agree, most of the gopher fans are a PIA. I was thinking more on attendence numbers than wanting to have a bunch of gopher fans to deal with. Most of the gopher fans that show up at the rest of the games should be "hockey fans".

  4. As I said before, I am a UMD fan first and Sioux second. I was hoping these two would avoid each other, but such is life. The good thing is I have a team to cheer for on Saturday night (and Saturday afternoon).

The Sioux will be tough for the Dogs, but I expect a close game. Some are talking about the Sioux rolling four lines and getting an advantage because of it. UMD also rolls four lines and their third and fourth lines have 3 seniors, so that advantage may not be as great as some are saying.

May the best team win tonight. One thing we can all agree on is......it sure will be nice to not have any more spelling lessons (m-i-n-n-e-s-o-t-a) this weekend.

It was good to only have to listen to the spelling lesson a few times last night. The only bad thing about the goph's losing last night is that the X will be not be as full since a lot of the gopher fans are not "college hockey fans" and a lot of them went to their final game last night.

  5. We are looking for 1 to 2 rooms in St Paul for the final 5 but are having trouble finding rooms. Anyone know of any reasonably priced hotels close that still have rooms available?
