  1. I thought administration was no longer allowed to use the term sioux. This email is hostile and abusive. Also on a side note, the petitioners haven't said anything to me and I have walked by a million times. I wonder who feels harassed? Could it be the anti-nickname people who were handing out fliers two tables down from them and then laughing at the reactions of all the people they asked as they walked away. Yes I sat there for about 30 minutes watching this and was pretty intrigued by the way the people who say they feel offended and feel mocked by the nickname were mocking other people.

  2. Like goon said, it's run by the federal government. It also loses billions each and every year. Obama also wants to build more of them.

    Recipe for success?

Wow. Maybe you should read the literature. He wants to build high speed rail systems not just more amtrak trains. These would run separately for the most part and would therefore be less prone to delays.

  3. There was a buzz in the crowd when he said it, but since we are no longer rivals it's pretty easy to move on. I've also had my UND logo wear confused for Notre Dame but I forgive people quickly and move on. Perhaps that was what happened with the polls a few weeks ago - coaches thought they were voting for Notre Dame :whistling:

haha which would make since because they are on a tear. Yea it's not that significant, but kinda funny.

  4. Televised game, Thursday night, coming of a 3-8 record..................

4 of the last 5 home openers have attracted over 10,000 fans............

I'll be the optimist and say more than 10k will show.................... :)

All of our home games are televised. That shouldn't make a difference. And to be fair, last year it the first home game was like a month after school started so students weren't as excited about it.

  5. Can you make it so you can't rep your own post? Kinda odd when a thread is a started (so it only has one post) but it has a +1. Sure enough, clicking on the rep shows that the OP repped his own post.

But what if you realize you said something idiotic and want to neg rep yourself lol.

  6. I did ? where was that?

Another person stated it, i dont have the time to go back and look anywhere. My source tells me 2 of your 15 posts or w.e. were about Hextall signing already.

  7. Yep you caught me i'm a troll.. I just come on here to post things just to see if i can get a reaction from guys/girls who post thousands of things about the program.. I will not tell you my source so then i guess im a troll.. Just thought i would share it.. also if you can go back and look @ my 15 posts you will see that. :)

Well you said the same thing a couple days ago and it still hasn't happened yet.

  8. My sources close to the program said that Hextall has signed will be leaving early

I've stood outside the Ralph a lot. Does that make me close to the program? I would like a real source before I believe this.

  9. The only reason he should stay is if he has a spot in the top 6 for next year already otherwise he doesn't have a whole lot left to prove as a 3rd liner in college hockey. He also needs to get used to the longer schedules of pro-hockey and playing the first half of the year in the AHL could do that for him, then he would be called up after the all-star break and given his shot much the way Vande-Velde was brought up this year. That is how I am guessing phoenix is looking at this.

Yea that is good. As long as this is how Phoenix is thinking it would be great. I just hate seeing players getting lost in the system who leave early. The longer schedule and strictly just hockey could really help him and I am excited to see how good he could become.

  10. I would disagree with that statement. He is good in the corners, can effectively clog the neutral zone, can chip in some offense, is an effective two-way player, and can get under opposing teams skin. I think we forget how on multiple occasions he completely changed the play of DU and Minnesota just by his yapping and aggressive play. He will be up with phoenix on a 4th line role at some point next year as he is not that far off. He will never be a top 6 player but he will be an effective grinder in today's NHL. I think we should be a bit classier about players who decide to leave after their Junior year and not knock them down for all the reasons it won't work. We were so good this year because of our incredible depth. Blood, Kristo, Gregoire, and Hexy are all developed enough to be playing in the NHL at some point next year.

You make some great points. He does however need more time in the weightroom and some more work on all of those things. He is effective against college teams, but how will he do against bigger and faster players in the NHL with his size? I have seen bursts of speed and really good play but can he do it consistently enough to make a spot on an NHL roster and maintain that spot. Personally I say no not yet, he still needs to learn. But when he does leave I will support him and not hold it against him. Why not just stay in school another year and develop more as a player with the help of coaches who do a pretty good job of developing players.

  11. Immediately after reading, OUCH! Not good for our fine state. After I thought about it awhile...maybe these folks will be pleasantly surprised by our fine state.

They seemed to be enjoying themselves...Also let's not forget, they only go to visit Fargo.
