Forecheck: I just posted on the POI web page about this, and bertibm replied that Saturday will not work "due to the Gophers". Also, I forgot that there is a third place game in the aft. - I think our guys just want to leave Saturday day and night both free, just in case. Regarding ice, all's I know is that bertibm's original ice lapsed b/c he didn't have any $$ commitment from the UND side (I can understand that - it's typically a bill in the $200-225 range, I think). Regarding still searching for new ice, I think it's back to some kind of $$ commitment that it will be "game on, drop the puck". So, no, I don't think there's been recent activity looking for new ice. Bertibm's the man on this. I'll stay out of it, other than to say I'd love to tend nets, but simply cannot help on Sunday.

I'm lost...........why can't this epic battle be sometime that Saturday afternoon.......down to two WCHA teams by that time, and they would play that night for all the marbles. If Sioux fans would be here to play Sunday, wouldn't it follow that they would also be here on Saturday, wanting to work off Friday night's hangover with some fast-paced hockey action??? I don't get it. Please assist. bertibm: I could assist with securing some ice for Saturday. For instance, right now - just checked: BIG has ice available Sat. 3/22 at 3:45 pm. Scenario: play some hockey, drink some beers, go to Gopher puck in the eve./entertain these nice guys/girls from UND. dbnets

Forecheck: Thanks a lot!!! I really do want to play, but all the fun stuff seems to happen at the same time. I see/chat with bertibm pretty often through POI ice and related posts, so will check with him, plus check here for updates. Let's see, if the Sioux sweep UW in Madtown, then open at home and beat Denver (?), then maybe face UMD in St. Paul, that Thursday night??? Man, that's a lot of ifs............fingers are crossed. Need the goaltending to hold up, to put it mildly.......and not get stonewalled with a hot goalie i.e. vs. UMD. Fond memories of Sioux road games on the big screen at Frenchie's Bar, think it's gone now............... dbnets

Double post - just read through this entire thread, from start to finish, to get the flavor of it. My bad: if this game is locked and loaded for Sunday, March 23rd, I cannot play. I'll be on my way to a northern Minny ski trip with a huge group of neighbors, it's the start of our kid's spring break. Sorry - but keep me in mind if the game ends up getting moved to BEFORE or DURING the Final 5 tourney, for whatever reason. I could play Th, F, or Sa that weekend. Just not Sunday.

This is dbnets, I just registered and am hereby expressing interest in tending the nets for the Sioux team. I really like the POI crew, but man my alma mater is UND, and I'd be honored...... I attended UND from 1979-1983, during some awesome Gino Gasparini-led Sioux teams. Fond memories of Marc Chorney (really shows my age), Phil Sykes, Mark Taylor, Fast Eddie Belfour, Scottie Sandelin, James Patrick, Troy Murray, Jon Casey, Tony Hrkac, etc......I guess you get the picture. The equipment deal will be worked out, post-haste. I'll be there, just tell me when. If you've scored a Gumper, just let me know......no hard feelings. The POI crew has access to some REAL good goalies (especially be aware of Brickwall), and I'm only OK, but I think I wouldn't be too sievey - will keep it a game, etc., as long as UND has some scoring. Have played a lot with the POI crowd this winter/last. Let me know, Sioux fans. Drop the puck.
