  1. Hey... if you doubt yzerman's comment, just ask JS Giguere. He won a Stanley Cup because of it. Giguere isnt a great goaltender. He's good, not great. He's not a hall of famer. But that year, he was always in the right position to make the save or, at the very least, make the goal difficult to score.

If Dell keeps it up, great.

Do I think he'll continue playing as good as he did last night? No. He'll have some "Freshman" mishaps.

    But he's good.

And I'll say it again: I think Hak should give Dell another start.... tonight.

Eidsness is starting tonight. But I agree, Dell did great!

  2. CodeRED alert issued for sandbag volunteers in north Fargo

North Fargo volunteers desperately needed to fill and place sandbags immediately, according to a CodeRED alert issued moments ago.

All volunteers should walk to 120 North Woodcrest Drive, where city staff will be dropping off sandbags, according to a recording by Fargo Police Lt. Gene Anderson.

"Volunteers are desperately needed," the recording said.

This was sent to me at about 6:30pm. If you're around and can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

  3. I have not heard of any evacuation plans for N. Fargo yet. My parents live in Riverwood and they have a bag packed just in case, but are good for now. South Moorhead ordered a mandatory evacuation. Oakport Township (N. of Moorhead) is being evacuated. The national guard is running the show now -they do not want any volunteers other than those in the specific areas. Traffic was a nightmare in the area today. It took my wife 2 1/2 hrs to get from her job in W Fargo to our house in Moorhead. It took me almost an hour to go from downtown Fargo to N. Moorhead (usually takes 5 min). This definately sucks.

Volunteers are definitely still wanted, the National Guard hasn't said anything about that. The city, however, is asking that people stay within their neighborhoods to help out as opposed to driving across town to help people.

There are a few neighborhoods that have already been evacuated, or evacuation is in progress. I just heard that Meritcare is evacuating their patients.

  4. Heard that some houses south of Fargo (between Briarwood and Oxbow) have already been lost. I really hope this doesn't happen to too many people, but if this keeps up, it will be a very sad situation!

  5. Bismarck probably could've used some help too. Just saw pictures from there and the Missouri River has already taken over.

Good luck to everyone sandbagging and in flooding neighborhoods across ND and MN!
