  1. unless Minnesota ends after North Dakota does or starts before North Dakota, he wouldn't miss that much school. All of our players were back before the start of school last year and they only missed finals week, which finals can be arranged to be taken sooner.

As much as this hurts the Gophers, I wouldn't count them out just yet. They might surprise us and no one can underestimate anyone in this year's WCHA.

Stinks to be the Gophers right now, and we just need to remember that this could happen to us, not counting Grieco leaving of course.

Money, money, money - what ever happened to play sports to burn off excess energy, stay off booze and drugs, but concentrate on getting an education and prepare to hold down a real job. The youth of america is in dream land, they want a cushy job with big money. Well forget it, there may be some out there but they dont last long, you get cut, canned, downsized, merged or fired so you better be prepared with a good education. A stint in the pros is no picnic either for most players.

  2. Hey what do you und hockey geeks think about Okposo pulling out to go pro at this time of year?? And how about the smack between his new head coach and Lucia, whoa cool it boys. The NHL is rapidly diluting the loyalty in college hockey with the "big money" offers. Shouldnt the NCAA step in and make a deal with the NHL that you must be 20 yrs old minimum to play NHL?? Also, Jr. hockey is robbing good HS players from thier hometowns and this is putting the hurt on High School hockey as well.

  3. You know that brings up a good point. RT will be looking for a job I'm sure without the NCC job. Doesn't he still own a home up in GF?

I dont think that is something that will work. He is not going to want to go back in the "fire" at this point in his career, he would be more suited for AD than a head coach.

  4. Off the top of my head, my preferences would be

    1. Kyle Schweigert

    2. Tim Tibesar

    3. Roger Thomas

    4. Craig Bohl

    5. Tom Dosch

    6. Chris Mussman

    7. Randy Hedberg

A real shocker for UND isnt it. Well it shouldnt be too much shock as Lennon has been on the look for new turf for 2 or 3 yrs. now. I say if the players like him, go with Mussman and Hedberg at OC or DC. Good luck, you'll need it, no AD, no Pres. whew!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I started the post because I thought it was funny how people in Fargo actually thought the NCAA was going to allow them to play in a bowl game regardless of their current level affiliation. I agree with the folks in Fargo that their football team this year was impressive and should they have won in SD they should have some recognition for their efforts. Lastly, thinking the NCAA would be flexible with its rules is about as possible as agreeing to wave the indian tribal exception in our nickname dealings.

I remember iwabuchi as a 29 yr. old freshman goalie from moosjaw saskatchewan, right?

  6. The odds are the same as they would have been if they had beat the bunnies. Zero.

When was the last time that NDSU's football season lasted longer than UND's?

The season is over for us but it was one helluva ride. The bowl thing was all bad rumors from the start. You know we could have been 7 -4 instead of 10 - 1. The D1AA or FCS is really fun to watch, you will be glad you finally made the move. But, get your checkbooks out cause you will need to fill your scholy limits quickly if you want to have winning records. The 1 loss or undefeated season will be a thing of the past. This is hard hitting, fast (4.3) football. You need depth because there will be injuries. The area ND talent is good enough to play at this level, that was one surprise to most of us and it helps keep the local flavor. Enjoy the ride and good luck!!

  7. I wonder why Batttle did not even get one carry at RB after the awesome game he had last week vs. Winona?? With Chappel being a no go and Murray having a bad shoulder I thought for sure Battle would get some carries.

Looks like most of the answers to this question are on the UND v GV post, look at pages 22,23, & 24. I agree that the game was not really out of hand where your team needed to throw the ball so much. A good effort at establishing the run would have made sense to me, so, where was Battle? Or why not keep giving it to Murray?
