It would be very nice to keep players throughout college eligibility, but I just don't see how you can guarantee that considering you are always trying to recruit the best young hockey talent.
Do you think your players are going to go to class now or go back to Canada??:)?
-
Yea, bring it on montgomery ward!!
-
Playoff hockey always centers around a hot goalie, obviously your guy had a bad night. If he stops 2 of the first 4 you are still in it. Oh well the Wild won tonight so you can still have something to cheer about.
-
Notre Dame has some really good talent, they just took the lead at 4-3, but Mich. is not playing real well either!
-
Looked to me like your goalie needed to make some big saves early and it didnt happen, oh well, get over it, try getting an american coach if your egf guy gets his way.
-
Hey North Fan, I felt that same way for the NDSU women's team when they lost their last ever game with UND.
Also, last time I checked the coach doesn't play the game. Why don't you go post on the NDSU smack site or better yet the NDSU Women's Basketball site - oh I guess it's been pretty quiet there for the last few years during the playoffs.
Yep I agree thats where I am going, but I may add that having 3 refs is a big problem, too many whistles! They can be a factor.
-
For whatever reason, I'm nowhere near as disappointed about this loss as I was after the last games of the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons. I guess those losses rendered me immune to women's basketball disappointment. Still, the last game as a dII program is certainly not the ideal time for probably the biggest choke in UND women's basketball history.
cough, cough, cough cough cough, cough cough, cough Yep, thats why they play the game, there are no free dinners, especially in the play offs.
Too bad for the Srs. They deserved a better ending! Way to go Gene.
-
Good luck to the UND women in the playoffs!! By the way, where is the USD coach moving on to??
-
PLEASE do not listen to him, he does not speak for us!!!
Ok, I am not the official on this offer, but the fact is, und needs the cash on this way more than we do.
-
Put the Nickel on the table and we'll play you!
-
We try to hold a civil discussion with you on a decent football schedule for your team in gf and we get rocked for it. Why dont you put together a real smack talk thread and lets get it on if that how you want to treat all of us "outsiders" on "your" forum. I can see that your IQ needs to be less than 49 to be here, good bye!
-
Our schedule is in the same place yours was 5 years ago. To say yours will ALWAYS be better is stupid. You have no idea where our program will be in 5 years. Go away!!!
-
I am not wishing to "go there" , your girls would be a real challenge, but now with a full schedule from the summit conference an open date could be an issue.
-
I would like our first experience to be your beloved bovine friends...oh...but I guess we are supposed to get our butts kicked so that would rule that "challenge" out. Perhaps Ms. Ruley would consider putting us on her schedule next year so we could give it our best effort!
-
Just trying to get you ready for a reality check. No way would you back off and try loose a few, Id never expect that, but be ready for the get ur butt kicked regular season games like you will experience in D1.
-
No doubt the women bball team there is a great team and coach Roebuck knows how to motivate them, but...
don't you think the players, fans and coaches would like to have a season where there are really tough challenges week in and week out?? After all, thats what life is all about, problem after problem, deal with it, solve it, defeat it. So I think you will be much happier in D1 where you will have some really tough games.
-
Is there any predicitons here for next year?? 60 or 70 % wins? maybe??
-
I agree with the discipline, without pay would have been even better.
-
My opinion is that this is too harsh, thoughts?
What?? too harsh?? come on, you guys are so lame on discipline. Bina, Oshie and Towes(?) should have had 2 games out last yr. for the minor in a bar incident. Now Hextall (i know, hakstol) finally gets whats due. No one flips a ref off anywhere without consequences. In Fargo, where everyone wants to live, SU benched Jake Morris 2 games for stealin a sweater from Penneys, and benched Gordon for kickin in a window at a keg party at Moorhead State and should have done a better job when Rocky let those 2 guys off (Reggie Scott?) for the snowball fight with the campus cops. This is lame treatment for your nukker coach as he still gets full pay. The only thing you gotta worry about its that Eades loves this cause he wants the job so bad, he can taste it. Yea baby, go pea in an elevator and try get out of that, even if the power goes out. Ha, Ha, Ha.
-
not sure where you get all your info plains cow fan, you obviously listen to the "reliable" local press too much, but bina did not let them out of a police vehicle, and they did not make a run for it, but nice try. as to the teenage drinking in nd, it is a problem, but osh is a 21 yr old who can legally have a drink in a bar. not sure how these situations correlate to your percieved huge "big money" problem, but it is a convenient one since no bison program has to deal with it. i think your drivel belongs on a different forum
edit- i didn't realize our mints started printing million dollar bills
Look, Im a hockey fan too, grew up in a hockey town. And maybe your right on the big money deal as per this article by Ruesse the CBA was capped at 750,000 for a signing bonus and now it is only 87,500, but as Kurvers states some of this is all about "development". Enjoy this article if you have not already read it and I AM going back to THE FORUM of all forums.

I think the last thing a Bison fans should lecture Sioux fans on is off the field behavior, I remember the Bison team of the 1990's was filled with a fair share of their own trouble makers. Reggie Cobb is the first one that comes to mind.
Note that I said this is happening everywhere. Yea Fargo too, Hatchett, Gordon, Scott, Morris, the list goes on and on. Also note that I said the NCAA should spend more time on the jump to big money problem that helps create a lot of this garbage and less time on logo issues like the one you are having. Teenage alcohol is another HUGE problem that needs to be addressed as well.
-
This kind of stuff is happening everywhere and all too often. Its a function of young immature minds who get million dollar bills waved in front their faces by pro sports and they totally lose focus on a college education, morals, respect for elders and so on. The NCAA needs to spend more time on this problem and less time on taking away someones mascot. Some of these players (5%?) know they have "got it made" by the time they are 17 or 18 yrs. old and in the long run it is a very bad situation in my book.
-
You should think twice about getting your facts straight before posting your words of wisdom.
Well then get the press in your town to get this stuff right the first time. Now I find out they were stuck in an elevator and pissed on the floor and there was no fight, come on, time to let it go man. Maybe the sports writers need a free trip to Siberia.
-
If you want to see the coaching staff get control of the discipline problem the suspensions need to be tougher. One game for this is a joke, especially after last years incident where Bina pulls them out of the cop car and they make a run for it and none of them got any game suspensions -WOW how fd up was that? Now this crap and only a 1 gamer, it should have been the whole St. Cloud weekend, he stays home and scrubs toilets at a mens dorm! Then he may think twice about it.
