  1. It is pretty sad how it ended, so sad really that I can't take any joy in this. I always thought it should be up to the tribes(not the tribal councils or the SBoHE), sadly some of their voices were never heard in this process.

I ditto this very much, carry on UND fans as best you can...

  2. we can't get a game in Fargo, because someone's brother-in-law can not buy a Hat.....

Hell, I'll buy him a Hat, send me his name.... :(

send me a picture of you in line buying a bison hat in gf, it will be so funny!!

  3. The talent level is probably the worst it's been on this squad since the early 90's. The administration nearly killed this program by dragging it's feet over the Division I move. It won't take more than a recruiting class or two to turn it around as long as we can get the right guys in place. Any Byesin fan who's on here talking crap should get over themselves. They've had five years of recruiting D-1 talent and still have a rotten football team. It will be fun watching them get their ass beat again next week. It will be more fun if we can salvage a winning season by winning in the Dakotadome but it will be a tall order. I must say I'm disappointed in the GF community for last night's turnout. This program deserves better from it's fans than 7.800 in attendance.

Watch out how you use the word rotten, GF is starting to smell as bad as Drayton and its coming from the aleranus. Why are you whining about 7800 in attendance for football, gf has always been a hockey town and always will be. There is more excitement generated by patsweeney when your icemen are going to play U of Manitoba in a hockey exhibition game than when you used to play football vs. grand valley state in a d2 playoff at gf. You'll never fill the alerus for football unless you play NDSU, so save your hot air energy and do some real work, get on that game!!

  4. Hellevang has not made a FG in his last 5 attempts. His last make came against Idaho St. He has not made a FG outdoors this season.

I was ready to throw Hellevang under the bus after this game, but after looking closer at his season numbers tonight, all but two of his misses on the season have been from 40+ yards out. And 2 of his makes have been from over 40 yards.

I will say though that while I don't like to place blame at the feet of one person, as the entire offense had its problems tonight, the difference in the ball game (in my mind) was the 3 points left on the field when Hellevang missed a 32 yard FG in the 3rd quarter with an 11 point lead. That is by no means a pressure situation. At home, indoors, with a 2 possession lead, an experienced Junior kicker should make that one every time.

As far as the rest of the game, I thought this was by far and away the best performance from the defense so far this year, and against a team that has shown the ability to put up alot of points. The contained SUU's running game and were very opportunistic getting 4 INTs and a fumble. Unfortunately it was a mistake by the Defense in taking the roughing the passer penalty that extended SUU's go ahead drive.

The offense wasn't horrid, but the offensive line struggled. They didn't create many holes for Murray, and they didn't give Freund much pass protection, he was sacked 5 times. UND was never able to establish any tempo at all. It seemed like every snap of the ball resulted in either no gain, or a 15 yard gain.

Another disappointing loss, and coming at home makes it sting more.

Hats of to SUU, they've improved alot over the last 12 months.

We'll trade you Bibeau for Hellevang even up, they both are struggling, except lately Bibeau is making his XPs

  5. Yup, that's a tough game for your guys, can believe it happened the way it did, but that how the ball bounces. Maybe Jim Bollman will say "welcome to Div. 1" on his Monday morning radio show. He needs to tone it down a bit about Sioux sports, it makes GF a one horse town. He should make more positive comments about the NDSU programs, like thier womens vball team just won the Summit League conference and have had a fantastic season. In Fargo you can buy sioux garb and bison garb at Scheels. In GF you cannot buy any bison garb an if you wear any bison garb you get starred at with hatred. An air base res. came up to me at Menards in GF and asked where I got my bison hat, he said his brother in law wanted one for xmas, he said he cant find any in GF to buy. What a shame. And you wonder why you cant get a game in fargo any more.

  6. There won't be anymore Gopher-AC games because Minnesota fans could care less about ndsu. As much as you'd like to pretend that you're rivals with them you're not even on their radar. You beat one of the worst Big Ten football teams of all time and most Minnesota fans realize that. It's only a big thing in Fargo.

Bring you squad to fgo this year and lets see what happens. If und beat the rodents in fball Im sure everyone in gf would fall asleep over it too.

  7. Maybe we will or else we could just call Lamar Gordon or Reggie Scott's parole officers to see what they are doing this week.

what a great blast from the past! Gordon was good but when he knew he had it made he acted like a sioux hockey player

  8. That appears to be the Ag College's new scheduling strategy as evidenced by the two non-conference turds you scheduled this year.

I was at a twins game 2 weeks ago and at the tailgate party a radio guy asked me about how we keep Bohl in fgo, I said just lucky so far. I then asked him about continuing a gopher bison series and he said no way. I said why, it packed the mdome, he said its not about money, its about wins, I dont agree with that theory but apparenty it is what it is.

  9. I believe the Northwestern State game includes a return game in 2010 and I've heard there are some preliminary talks for a game at a few different BCS schools in 2010. It's also been mentioned from numerous sources that their are 9 confirmed games for 2009. I believe these include the six already listed.

Gee, whatever happened to the days when you had 8 games in the cargill shed then play 2 cakes on the road?

  10. Do not lump us in with the crazy stuff that Mpls comes up with. Anyone that is in the know with Bison Athletics knows that this is just some irrational dude's wet dream.

Amen, no way our big wigs want to play that game in the dome of Mpls. I vote that we play und in fgo two yrs. in a row and then start and alternating series that will always be non conference of course as und will likely be stumbling around looking for a conf. after the great west flops in a year or so. If you non chappels want to pick up and extra game now, give good old RT a buzz I'm sure he would oblige y'all. Watch out though I hear they have some kid from Edmonton that is really fast even without skates.

  11. no intent to be arrogant, but as bball has been over since the beginning of March and football has been over since November and hockey season has been over for 1 1/2 weeks....that sorta makes sense.

That being said, I would personally love to see the rivalary started again not because either team needs it more than the other one. I want it back because it was a great rivalary and it was a great thing for our state. Good Luck to NDSU in the playoffs this year...you will make our state proud. But WHEN the two play each other again, sorry but I am going with my boys in the Kelly Green.

Now, here is a man with a brain.

  12. If it happens it happens, but I certainly won't lose any sleep if it doesn't. NDS-who just aren't nearly as important to us as they would like to think they are. After reading comments like "you need it worse than we do", is it any wonder why I detest that program so much? It's bad enough that their fans are so smug and arrogant, but what makes it worse is that they have nothing to be smug and arrogant about. If the Fargodome had hosted, oh... say 10 playoff games, I would understand. But when they haven't won jack since 1990 they really should keep their mouths shut to avoid making fools of themselves.

    :D

Your comment about detesting people like us is a personal attack, shouldnt you be more careful as it is against this sites bylaws I believe. Its because of attitudes like this that the series ended, suck it up and play the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Don't you mean 4? The Sioux will be playoff eligible in 2012. That leaves 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 as the non-playoff eligible years. I realize counting isn't one of the strong points of Bison fans, but you'll have to take my word for it when I tell you that it is in fact four years of no playoffs. The fifth year is when you actually become playoff eligible. You'd think with the cows being playoff eligible in this their upcoming fifth season of I-AA you'd have figured that out by now.

DaveK, no intent to be arrogant about it, just want to see this series get going again dont you?? A real good example of arrogance is the hockey threads on here and the front page of this web site, you have to squint to find anything on football or bball.

  14. Hey, ur new ad, Faison, says und should be playing NDSU, its only an hour away, it just makes sense, etc, etc. Now tell your coaches to keep their noses out of it and let the 2 ad's work this out if you want it to happen, you need it worse than we do, but we can both use the cash, right?

  15. Who is Ryan Schwenzfeier? There is a Joel Schwenzfeier. At least get names right before you troll on here. Manke is UND's best DB, that much I have seen.

My bad, it is Joel, his bro Aaron got shafted on playing time there too in my book, as for trolling dont you believe in freedom of speech, thats what forums are all about arent they? If you want to talk secretly most people I know use the phone or text or email, not forums so I will continue to be here, live with it.

  16. Just a guess on some of these positions, but here goes:

    QB-Danny Freund*

    RB-Ryan Chappell*

    FB-Marcus Tibesar

    WR-Brady Trenbeath*

    WR-Alex Nicholas

    TE-Blair Grover

    LT-Kyle Bondy

    LG-Brian Troen*

    C-Mitch Braegelmann*

    RG-Erik Moe

    RT-Keith Queoff

    DE-Jeff Richter

    NG-Nate Wayne

    DE-Nick Farstveet

    OLB-Bobby Stroup*

    ILB-Brett Holinka*

    ILB-Ryan Kasowski

    OLB-Jeff Tescher

    CB-Drake Otto

    FS-Rory Manke*

    SS-Derek Malner

    CB-Delano Saporu

    K-Brandon Hellevang*

    P-Derek VanZee

*-denotes returning all-conference or honorable mention all-conference players

Wait a minute, you forgot about Ryan Schwenzfeier on Defense, like the FS position I'd say, oh whoops I guess Manke has some inside connections, very typical.
