Does Princeton have a unique "offensive playbook" for lack of a better term? It seems like their guys are never where our D expects them to be. Or is it just as simple as our defense is having one of their bad games.
-
That was the ugliest powerplay I've ever seen, followed by an easy goal. I'm convinced I'm going to die of a heart attack watching Sioux hockey. Now I can breathe again.

Duncan bails our butts out.
2-0

How do we allow 1 guy 3 point blank shots?

Oh good. Now if we take one, we can blame you for bringing it up!
Don't worry, anything I post turns out absolutely wrong. Earlier in this thread, I predicted a tight first period with the Sioux blowing the game open in the 2nd. Whoops.
-
I've noticed one big positive about our team thus far today, but don't want to say anything, as I feel that will curse it. It has to do with that office on the opposite side of the players bench though!
I think right now our sloppy defensive play would have more to do with a Princeton goal than anything you post online.

When's the last time we went this deep into a game without a penalty?
-
That was the reason some fans wouldn't have minded concentrating more firepower on the top line by replacing Miller with Kozek, DESPITE allowing checking lines to have the possibility of shutting down more of UND's firepower by just stopping one line. It might help, but might hurt, if the top line doesn't score, to have a 3rd line that has significantly less scoring touch.
I was one of those fans who wanted Kozek back out on the first line, I just didn't want to come down too harshly on Miller since he's still a Sioux.
-
You're just noticing that this game? He's been like that pretty much all year. Don't mean to come down on him, but he needs to find ways to get his shot off. He should be practicing with Kozie and Dane Jackson.
I've noticed it many times before, but there have been 2 chances this game that I was referring to.
-
This period has been much more even than the first. Princeton is getting some decent looks at JPL.
-
Since we've been having this discussion lately on the boards, that is the 2nd time in this game I've noticed that Miller had a scoring chance and both times was unable to get a shot.

i have a lady crush on him!!
He's like Oshie, Jr. Besides Oshie, no one else on our team can single-handedly create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates as well as VV.
-
Wow. I just need to stop watching the last 10 seconds of periods during Sioux games anymore.
-
40 seconds left. Get a late goal here and break their spirit.
-
I'm very impressed with Vandevelde so far. he seems to be everywhere! I predict two points for him today if he keeps hustling.....
VV has been our second best forward all year long, IMO. I'm a little biased though, since I seem to have a mancrush on him that I can't explain.
-
We are getting all kinds of chances. Keep this up boys!
-
The last time the Sioux had a 5 on 3 PP we couldn't even convert.
Twice.
-
VV and Oshie creating a lot of chances out there.
-
One of the announcers made the comment he was surprised how UND's powerplay % wasn't higher. Well, it's hard to score on the PP when the shorthanded team can do whatever it wants since the refs never want to give a team a 5 on 3.
-
Goal Kozek! Great shift by the 2nd unit.
-
Sioux PP coming up.

I think they're pretty good so far.
They not only know how to pronounce names, but they seem to know a lot about players(Bina's injury, Duncan's humility), unlike those idiots who did the Final 5 games.

That's kind of what I was thinking while watching that period. Princeton skaters seem to outnumber us in the zone and get open looks at the net way too often. On the other hand, we are still up 2-0.
BTW, I'm loving the Rubik's cube intermission analysis!
