We complain about WCHA referees(and by we, I am including myself), but the WCHA programs are just as guilty as the Shepherds. Seriously, how many of the players on our team would York watch stagger up and down the ice and whiff on slap shots before he finally pissed his pants in laughter? Maybe, just maybe scoring is down in the league because we've gotten to the point that we're satisfied with forwards who couldn't score on an empty net, but play physical, hard-nosed hockey. Back in the day, you still had to have guys like that, but they were the exception, not the rule. I understand you need players who can do the dirty work, but if 95% of your team is doing the dirty work, who the hell is going to put the puck in the net?

Since we're going to need a new nickname and logo in a few years anyways, why don't we just get it over with now and change our team name to the Buffalo Bills. People always talk about the McNaughton Cup supposedly weighs teams down, so just what the hell is our excuse every year? Yet another year of taking the first half off, and another year of walking away empty-handed. I'm not ready to say it's Hak's fault by any means, at least not yet, I've got to tell you as a long time fan, this has become the definition of Fighting Sioux hockey. The old days are long gone.

Well, on a positive note, at least we can brag about how wonderful the rest of the WCHA is some more! I must admit after this game, these non-WCHA teams are terrible. I mean, they actually put guys on the ice who can score. I just thought hockey came down to who had the most checks.

Let's hope the '09 Sioux actually feature more than 2-3 guys who can actually score. I'm getting so sick of watching these stiffs who are considered great hockey players merely because they can throw throw their bodies into someone. I understand that you need to have defensemen who can muscle, but give me forwards who can actually score and create offensive opportunities.

I don't think I've ever had as much fun following a sports team in my life as this year's Sioux hockey team. 2 more games and the pact will be fulfilled.

Wow! That's all I have to say is wow! We must have made a deal with the devil because we got outskated in both games and pulled out victories. Let's do it the easy way in Denver, though. I can't take anymore of this stuff.

It's on like Donkey Kong, Badgers. My cousins are all alums on Wisconsin, so I've always had little love for the Commies. I can't wait for the puck to drop!!

For those watching on the internet, is your feed terrible? I watched a little last night and it was fine, but now it is skipping and blurry.

Has anyone heard about ND-MSU? Unless I missed it, I don't think anyone has posted a score all day.

I agree the time should be put back, but why do they allow play to continue for so long? Can you imagine if the game had ended like Melrose was talking about. Refs blow the whistle on delayed penalties to stop play. I can see why they'd want to continue play to see if Minnesota puts the rebound in, but if the goal light comes on, why not just blow the whistle when BC touches the puck next in that situation. That makes more sense than having teams play over 3 minutes of worthless hockey.

That was clearly a goal. If they really do go from 45 seconds to over 3 minutes, that is one of the stupidest rules in sports.

Especially considering all the upsets yesterday. Early in the season I get upset when the Sioux doesn't play well but still wins because it could be an indicator of things to come later in the year. This time of year, it's all about getting a win today because there is no guarantee of a tomorrow.

Taking it one step further, it's nice to finally be in a game where the goalie probably stole a one from the other team in which we won. We've been on the opposite end of these games far too many times.

Very nice chance, but we should have just taken the first shot instead of making one too many passes. Sure looked pretty though.

I'd obviously prefer for us to stay out of the box, but I'd also prefer for JPL to not have to make save after save after save bailing us out as well. I think JPL had made us look a lot more disciplined then we are actually playing.

In all fairness, the first intermission was all Sioux stuff, including an interview with Marc Chorney and Kozek, so it's not like they have been ignoring us this game.

I'm wondering what penalties Bob felt should have been called. We've hardly laid a body on Princeton skaters in our own zone, save Chorney(which was called). That's been our problem in this game.
