It looks like we still might have a chance for olsen
"The partnership might very well play together again next season, although not likely in Camrose. MacWilliam has already signed with the University of North Dakota and Olsen has the Fighting Sioux on his list of options for next fall as well. North Dakota, in fact, has recruited half a dozen players out of the Alberta Junior Hockey League this season. They

Looks like you guys are interested in Corban Knight of the Okotoks Oilers in the AJHL:
http://www.highrivertimes.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1321711
#1 in scoring on his team and #17 in the league (also the #1 scoring rookie in the league)
Another article about Knight. It looks like it's between us and UMass.

Sometimes Duluth games are on in the Cities. Does anyone know if tonights game will be televised? My girlfriend was channel surfing a couple of nights ago and she thought she saw an advertisment for it. Thanks

after the play Fine before or during Not Fine
I respectful disagree. I went to the Vikes/GB game two weeks ago and everyone was on their feet for virtually the whole game. Hell, even @ the Wild games most people stand when a critical play is about to happen. You do know that the view is unobstucted in your living room, right? The atmosphere is what makes college sports awesome.

Not to jump on you but please don't get us into this discussion. The student section is quiet due to rules that we are given when we get our season tickets. We are not allowed to stand when the puck is in play except for when it is appropriate and we are allowed to stand until the first whistle at the start of the periods. We are to limit our four letter words, but the band is told to start a cheer over us everytime that we start one. There is to be no drunk and disorderly conduct...any violation of these rules will result in your being kicked out of the game and possible loss of your tickets.
FYI, the band normally only plays the beer song after a goal, so if you didn't stay for the entire game on Friday, you didn't hear it. I believe we sang it at least once after the goals...i can't remember for sure.
I went to UND from 1986-1991 and moved away to California for a job. I moved back to the area several years ago and have been to 10 games at the new Ralph. I love the building but it's morgue-like. The students should be behind the opposing goal raising hell. Could you imagine if they told the Cameron Crazies to sit down and behave? I don't get it. This is college and the kids should be having the time of their lives like i did watching Eddy, Tony, Ian, Bobby, and the gang. What happened to our home ice advanage? It's a sad day when St Cloud's arena is louder. We are turning into gopher fans @ home.

This was probably in a different thread but if you haven't seen the latest Miller Time...Freshies Gone Wild, check it out. It's pretty funny.

After watching the replay of the Duncan goal and seeing Hextall go hard to the net and hit the guy, all I have to say is........
THAT WAS A FIVE MINUTE MAJOR ADAM??
You have got to be kidding me....that was a horrendous call...no doubt about it....
I just watched the video again....that was horrible. It didn't even look like a two min. penalty. Hextall is going to be an excellent player, he was really making things happen out there. He is going to be Kaip-like with way more skill.

that's where you are wrong bucky boy, the only time i have been proud our guy didn't fight back was when kaip was getting fist pounded by bruess two years ago because he knew it would cost his and his team two games. he even looked at hak for the go ahead, but he didn't get it, so let his face get pounded until the linesmen broke it up. that is why he was such a great captain, team first, led by example. and bruess got what was coming to him the following season.

im glad you guys think it was the right thing for your team, but sometimes a game is worth setting a tone for the team for the year. fighting just to fight doesn't have a place in college hockey or hockey period, but i think there are times when fighting serves a purpose, and that is an entirely different conversation. don't you guys have a forum for your own team but who would we pick on if you guys didn't come over here
Now this is discipline. Check out Kaip @ the 40 second mark asking Hak if he can foil-up.

My buddy and I are leaving shortly. Sec. 101 (Friday) Sec. 102 (Saturday). There were a ton of Sioux fans last year....I can't wait. Let's go Sioux!

St. Cloud State vs. Sioux (Jan 30-31) tickets went on sale this morning...it was easy getting both nights (ticketmaster)

Dayn Belfour was traded from Winkler to St. Mike's (OPJHL)

Well, I had thought about Nathan Lieuwen as the next UND goaltender after Walski leaves, but he played 3 games in the WHL before leaving for the BCHL, so he's a 2009 recruit who'd have to sit out until 2010. Sad really, because he just helped Team Canada win gold at the Hlinka tourney.
I also thought about Joe Howe of the USHL. However, he just committed to CC.
I think a lot depends upon this year. Our goaltending recruiting philosophy is a mystery, true. I have no idea who is good out there.
Does anyone know if we are looking at Joey Rewucki from the Winnipeg Trashers?

The Tragically Hip are awesome. I always see former Sioux players @ their shows. They played @ the 10.000 lakes festival last summer and there had to be 15-20 former Sioux players behind me. Let just say they love pouring booze over each others heads...and mine (i was wearing my Sioux hockey shirt).

Whats the cheapest way to get a flight to Denver now? I looked last Wednesday and tickets were $204 from MSP to DEN. Now, they're pushing $400+....Anyone have any suggestions? How good is Priceline.com for airfares?
My friend got one the other day for a decent rate. Try Frontier...changing your return flight from Sunday to Monday should lower the cost.
