  1. I have another friend in the cities who told me about this Minnesota 4 on 4 hockey league for professional hockey players. The league is a beer league compromised of many WCHA and college hockey alumni. He went to a couple of games last year and said it was fairly entertaining. Pretty cool to see these guys playing together during the summer, here is the league schedule and rosters.

Where is the Drake Ice Arena located? Do you have an address for it? This might be a good place to get autographs after the games.

  2. I've been to one of them in Quincy market near Fanuel Hall and its a sweet place.

That's the one I was thinking of. The outside was the one used in the tv show Cheers. I have an idea, whenever someone comes in wearing Sioux clothing, we call all shout out, "SIOUX ! " instead of "NORM !"

  3. I am so excited too. With this schedule I'm thinking that I could make it to over 20 games this year! Also discovered that the Sioux are out east over MEA (teacher's convention) in Mn so am planning on making the flight out to Bean Town for that one too. Let's meet at the Bull and Finch (Cheers) Saturday afternoon for a pre-game drink! Go Sioux!

  4. Speaking of videos, if anyone wants to see some Sioux hockey highlights you can also go to youtube.com and do a search on college hockey. I was craving some hockey with all of this talk this summer and needed a fix. Someone also posted some great clips on another forum on this site. Thanks for sharing... Sioux fans are the Greatest!!!!!! GO SIOUX! ;)

  5. I am with you, let's leave the NCC on top and with a National Championship. I was at the Spring ball game and saw some good things. Does anyone know if they have filled all of the dates on their schedule yet? Dale told me in May they were still looking to fill one game.

  6. This would be wonderful for us to keep Dale. I spoke with him in early May and he was very excited about UND's move to D1. That is why I was so surprised that he interviewed for the job. As a coach, I know it never hurts to interview and keep your options open.

  7. It's to bad there isn't some sort of deadline on when these guys must decide. As a coach I know it would be frustrating not knowing who is returning. Any chance in the future some sort of deadline is put into place on returning or going to the next level?

  8. I have met the AD on several occasions at Sioux athletic contests and he seems to be a great guy. As a former Sioux athlete he is seems to have more interest than I remember Carl Miller having when I was there. I am currently a coach and from what I've seen so far, I'm in the Buning camp too. Still hope Dale stays but I know him too, was on the same team as him and he will follow his heart and dreams.

  9. I agree.... now I fear he is leaving. What I hed heard early in May was that he would only go if he went to the top club. Now it sounds like he might go since he hasn't said anything yet. and settle for playing for the farm club. Brian if you read this I hope you stay at UND. Next season is going to be one for everyone to savor for a long long time!

  10. I live in the St.Cloud area and SCSU was very sad to see Brian go. With the new coaches at UND I think they have the makings for some very good things in the future. I'm already planning a few road trips to see the Womens team in action in Mankato and going up to GF to see them there too. Go Sioux

  11. My source (who is very close to the family) said in May that if Lee didn't go straight to the top club, then he would stay at UND another year. That was almost a month ago before the Senators reached the finals. I'll check in again with my source and get back to you all.

  12. I am a UND alum, currently live in MN and was in ND this past weekend to visit my dad back on the farm. Every state highway sign had the Sioux head on it along with the name " SIOUX' on many steel grainerys. I guess that was the company name back in the 70's when we put up the bin. Funny how no one complains about our highway signs or our steel bin. I believe that when UND wins the suit, the other schools will regrett giving up so soon without a fight. GO SIOUX!

  13. When was that? Cause I had a team jacket that still has the Blackhawk logo on it from 92-93. I wasn't on the hockey team. When we ordered them, coach said it was the last time that the Blackhawk logo was going to be on anything so we were lucky. I also have a sweatshirt with the logo on it from that year.

  14. When teams have more than 2 types of jerseys for away games, who decides which one the team will wear for the game? Also, will the Sioux replace the ones they are selling this season with a new design?

  15. I sort of like it (the feathers) but would like to see the current Sioux logo on the helmet. When I was at UND only the hockey team was able to use the logo (like the Chicago BlackHawks) and the rest of us had to use that old geometric shape one. WHEN we finish in court with the NC$$ I'd like to see everyone use that logo more.

  16. Welcome Jason! A man like you that has his priiorities in order with family at on the top of your list is a great person. Having your family being able to watch you play all those games at the Ralph plus the series with the schools in MN will no doubt make them very happy. Take it from a former athlete that played for the Sioux, it was nice for my folks to drive to see me in action rather than read about it in the paper. Welcome! Enjoy... Great place to eat in Grand Forks, The .Red Pepper , may I reccomend the Grinders.

  17. I think the best thing you can do if you know of a good player is to email the coach and let him know about the athlete. Sometimes there are some kids out there that no one knows about yet.I am a HS coach in Minnesota and I get things all the time from colleges for my athletes. I hand them all out and tell the kids to look at what it is they want to be doing 5-10 years down the road. Will going to a certain college help you acheive that goal? I also wear a lot of Sioux Green with logos to the majority of my practices or to games. If someone asks me about UND, i tell them it's a great place for an education and I enjoyed going there. I also tell them I'd go back there in a heart beat and be a student/athlete again. I also had a parent ask me about whether her oldest daughter should go to UND or NDSU. They knew I was an alum of UND and a former athlete. I repeated what I said earlier. The result was that their oldest daughter went to UND followed by 2 more sisters. GO SIOUX!
