  1. K, just a few thing going throught my head, 1st of all congrats to the Eagles for the woopin we endured.

2nd, will someone please send the blacksmith, the wheels seam to have fallen off the bandwagon.

3rd, Now we will really see what kind of a coach Hak is. I have a feeling we are in really good hands. Correct me if I am wrong. Are the Seniors going out, the last of the players Blais recruited. Or do we have another year left?

This pretty much sums everything up? Did Hak inherit his teams? Hmmmm???

  2. What is a coach going to do to help Finley gain more speed. Finley did not get burned on either of Gerbes first two goals and he was not on the ice for the thrid one that was put in the roof of the net. First was Genoway missing the puck and stumbling to create a 2 on 1 and the second was Genoway (fairly certain) that over committed and allowed Gerbe to get the puck in the open. From their it is a race and Gerbe wins every time. So by my count the only thing you can blame on Hack & Co for is recruiting a big physical d-men. Which by the way is one of the main things most Sioux fans always want. They hated Lee because he was finesse and they hate Finley because he lumbers.

What F____ can they do. Not every play that comes to the Sioux is Jonny Toews. Most have flaws. The coaches help to correct the flaws and put players in good situations. But that becomes harder as the year goes on and you face better competition.

I understand frustration over a loss like this. I know the f---ingheimer was flying around the house quite a bit earlier. But I think calling for the coaches head is way over the top. This group is top notch. Others may not share that viewpoint but IMO those people are just plain spoiled from all the success that Hak & Co have had recently. They forget that Gino and Blais had down years. In fact Gino had a down decade.

Finley wasn't burned??? What game were you watching??

  3. I hear what you're saying and I agree that we "should've" won. But shoulda, woulda, coulda... Everytime the Sioux lost, we lost to a better team that night.

In the past I probably would've been cussing and swearing, throwing things around, dumping on the coach, team and whoever else I thought was to blame and would've said bull$%!# about the other team being losers, etc. But I guess having kids brought me some opportunity to be a little more introspective on things. As a result, while I'm pissed off, I realize there more to it than just the loss. While Hakstol hasn't gotten the National Championship yet (and it's the whole team, not just the coach) he'll (along with everyone else on the team) get us there.

We still have made it further that so many other teams and there are probably plenty of fans that would like to have a team like the Sioux that gets them that far.

I'm as disappointed as much as any other Sioux fan but like Upper Deck said, "...they took us to the mountain and while we didn't get to the peak, we got to enjoy the view above the clouds." For me... that sums it up.

    But everyone has their opinion...

Allright, I like your perspective! I am young and a senoir this year and just wanted one while I was here. I wanted it really bad, as we have been to the Frozen Four all 4 years I have been here. All 4 years we have lost when we were so close.

  4. We lost a game in the Frozen Four. Any way you put it.... 1-0, 12-0, 3-2, OT, whatever, it's going to sting.

What makes a fan a true fan is how they handle the loss.

Right now, a lot of "fans" aren't showing themselves in a classy manner.

Well then you can be happy with no championships as an elite team in 4 straight appearances in the Frozen Four

Finley is not a bad player, I like Finley. But crap, even I know not to play him on a line against Gerbe. OYu would think our coach could figure that out

  6. I would not be so mad if this wasn't our 4th year of being their. Some times, you have to be mad. 2 times have we lost to a team that has lost in the championship. For me that's 2 possible championships. This makes a total of 4. A good coach finds a way to win, ask any elite team who knows how to get it done.

  7. That's beautiful man... very true!

Well from someone thats from Colorado and have climbed a lot of mountains, it no victory unless you make it to the peak. You must have not made the hike before!

  8. Disappointing... yes indeed.

But man... how many teams/players can we say have done what the Sioux have done these last four years? Yes, they haven't been able to get the prize, but they've taken their fans close and always for a crazy and exicitng ride. I'll take the last four years versus never even getting the chance.

Good luck and godspeed for those departing players. We'll be watching you in the pros and we'll be watching the Fighting Sioux next year taking us on another crazy ride!

    Go Sioux!!

What? Losing when we were supposed to win, 4 years in a row? C'mon man?

  9. Settle down. The coaches can onmly help put the players in position. They don't win or lose the games. BTW if Hack and Company did not recruit and coach these guys you wouldn't get to watch them go to the Frozen Four. This thread should be shut down.

    BD

And they can learn who is going to match up well with Gerbe also. Looks to me as Finley was burned in the same game 2 years in a row by the same player. Ok thats a good coach!!

  10. Fire Hak??? Hmm I would say Lucia or Sandelin has a better chance of losing their job before Hak

I didn't know that Grand Forks had a crack problem?

Well then you can go without a championship then, and just settle for the Frozen Four and get dissapointed every year

  11. OMG!!!! :D

Most programs would KILL to have 4 Frozen Four trips in 4 years, a Hobey Baker winner and 2 Hobey finalists.

Put down the crack pipe, please.......

Yeah most teams. But most teams have not had the teams we have had. Parise, Bochenski, Toews, Oshie, etc. How many more have to go without a championship?

  12. Yes. Until tonight I would disagree. But are you kidding me? Losing to the same team 3 years in row in the same game! Unecceptable! Not only did we get beat, we were imbarrased! You would think that the coach would have the guys a little better prepared than this. The point is that if you were an NHL coach and the same thing happened to your team, you can bet your a$$ that you lost your job. Well, I think the same should be the same for a team that has been in the Frozen Four 4 years in a row as a top team! Time for a coaching change! People say he is 4-0 to the Frozen Four, but the way I view it, he is 0-4 with teams that are supposed to win it.

  13. I spent the first 24 years of my life in North Dakota..I know bad weather. From a ND perspective, 7in of snow isn't much.

Now...put 2 million people on the road (seemingly half from California and Texas) and see what happens when the roads get slick.

    Watch out folks.

That and people in the metro area think they are invincible and fly down the roads when they are slick.

  14. we will be drinking every night til the bars close down ;) the suv is from my uncle as they are driving from grand forks so we have the ride to get us from the airport and back and friday on the off day to do whatever:D everything else will be walking and taxis..wooooooooooooooooooo...............party time

Awesome!! Hope to see you in LoDo after the Sioux win!!

  15. damn that was fun to watch (at least the third period on)

the best players played their best. oshie and duncan and kaip led this team through this regional! jpl is the best goalie in the country and showed it!

bc, mich and the "other" nd better be scared that hobey duncan has found his shot again.

thank parise kozek is back where he belongs.

just win baby, see you in denver, hope to meet some of you there

    GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard it a couple of times, but what is the deal with Parise? Did he work with Kozek oh his shot?

  16. Is the overtime goal up on youtube yet? I just need to see that again! Nice job Kozek. He just earned a definate spot on the DO line for the rest of the tourney. If not, I am going to go nuts!

  17. Some Gopher friends of mine asked me what I would do if my son were to skate for the Minnesota Gophers someday. I told them I would be in Mariucci Arena standing proud while watching him be called out for pre-game introductions...then I'd boo his a** off like I do the rest of the Gophers.

    CLASSIC

  18. I'd like to see WI get beat 10-0 just so the NCAA could stuff their selection right up their anti-nickname a**es!

Yeah I am kind of torn on this game. I want Wisconsin to win this game because Manino is scary in the playoffs, but I want Denver to win cause then we can get our revenge and we wont have to play Wisconsin at home. Oh who to root for?

  19. the gophers are such a powerhouse this year  you should worry about BC before even sniffing air force or miami ??? so are you saying the gophs have already won?

Thats what the goofers do. They look ahead to who they would play in the next round and then they get beat. BC will win
