  1. Not to mention all of the DIVING that Peter the Dive queen has been doing.

Not saying he isnt but if you think Laperriere is a thug, then what do you think Boogaard is? I mean, c'mon! Take off the glasses. Oh yeah, and the better team advanced, the more disciplined and skilled team. Theodore was amazing too. And while we are on the topic of thugs, how about the 101 penalty minutes compared to the 46 of the Wild in game 4. Face it Wild Fans, the Avs are just plain better!! Quit making excuses that Forsberg was diving. You have got to be kidding me. Are you really going to say the Wild lost cause ONE player was diving (in your eyes)?? This is a player that is one of the best ever in the game, and has never been known to dive. Stop crying Wild fans

  2. Laperriere is one of the biggest hacks in the league, he runs around taking runs at the Wild's skilled players and when one of the tough guys challenge him he turtles or runs away. The Wild should have planted Slappy when they lost 5-1. Check out Sid Hartman column on it. I think Glen Sonmor is right.

And a couple of the Wild players have taken runs at the Avs' stars? What games are you watching? How about the CFB on Statsny, and the tackle of Peter Forsberg?

  3. Boogard is nothing more than a thug. I'm so glad he doesn't play for the Penguins. His style of play is a disgrace to the game.

And Wild fans are saying Laperriere is a thug. Haha! Hilarious :D

  4. I'm sad too from the outcome of the game, but I think many fans have gotten spoiled over the years with the playoff success and getting to the Frozen Four. We always want more which has led to many to start pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Right now I'm very thankful for:

A university with a great hockey tradition, a faithful fan base that travels well with the team during the season, the best venue to watch a hockey game in, and yes, getting to still be playing in April while so many teams and fans hung up their jerseys many weeks ago. There are many, many teams that have never made the NCAA tourney much less won a game in it or have made the Frozen 4. My advice is to reflect on some of the positives we have going for us.

This couldn't be more accurate! Nice post!

  5. YOU wanted it really bad? I'm sure the players wanted it 50 times more than some senior college student sitting in the stands.

Tell ya what, jerkweed, I went to school from 1988-1992 and times got lean then. From 1992-1995 they were even worse. And you know what? I stuck by the team because I bleed Sioux green. What gives you the right to think you're somehow entitled to a national championship. They've won 7 in the history of the program, yet you were somehow DENIED a title? Appreciate the fact that this team went as far as its did and you had a wonderful four years watching them. You could have spent four years watching Bowling Green, Lake Superior State, Providence, or any other half-assed program. Instead, you were treated to four quality years of hockey.

    Go Fighting Sioux. Forever.

Hey man, take it easy! Wow! I will admit I am in a class that has been spoiled. But you dont need to go attacking any Sioux fan! Never did I say I was giving up on this team. Like you can see, I will always Bleed Sioux Green! But honestly, you dont need to attack anybody. Cant you understand that some people get frustrated?

  6. My apologies then. I quoted the wrong person, entirely. Sorry about that.

Its cool! I just think that every fan is different in the way they handle a loss. For some, I think it takes a while longer than others. But in the end, when the dust settles, I think everyone would agree that Hakstol shouldnt be fired and this was a silly thread. And we who can get over a loss without throwing someoneunder the bus right away need to be patient with everyone else. Because in a few months from now, we will all be at the Ralph rooting for another great team! And we will all Bleed Sioux Green!!!

  7. That was funny and I was thinking of a great slamb for this guys too but I would probably get suspended.

I agree, all season long our team won games it shouldn't have, I think the Sioux might have over achieved.

    Just a thought.

I think Hakstol is going to lead a team to an NCAA title soon, the recruits coming in on paper measure up against the

media's darlings (Michigan, Miami, Minnesota, B.C.) as well as the other top teams in college hockey. I think we should take a breath and let it sink in. Hockey is a game folks and I am upset but I have moved on. I will still go next year. Tomorrow is another day, there will be more cold beer soon.

Hey man, like I said, I just needed some cool down time. If you ask me, you shouldn't be slamming any Sioux fan, but thats just me.

  8. Are you still complaining? Aren't you the moron that started this thread? Dude, I am just as upset and disappointed as any other fan, but to say that we need a coaching change? Put down whatever you are holding, before you hurt somebody. Think about what you just said in your last statement. 1 TEAM! Name any other team in the NCAA that Hakstol's Sioux teams have played and NOT beaten at least once? Are there any? I can't think of one, honestly. That says that the Sioux do pretty well, all in all. It also means that Jerry York just seems to know how to beat our team. And according to a quote I read that was from him, "it's only a matter of time until Dave brings that trophy back to Grand Forks."

You are upset with the fact that our team lost, we get it. Now, get OVER it!

You are the moron. I little while back I stated that I had cooled down and I was better. And, why dont you check yourself. I did not start this thread. Idiot

  9. BC has 28 NCAA tournament appearances, not Frozen Four appearances. That number is 20.

Six times in the past ten years, they have played for the national title. A loss Saturday would give Jerry York's Eagles a 1-5 mark in championship games. Hey, BleedSiouxGreen, fire Jerry York if BC loses Saturday night?

Another person that doesnt get what I am saying. But I guess I am not surprised. Jerry York has not lost to the same team in the same game 3 years in a row. It would be different if we actually lost to someone different. But somehow we cant figure out how to beat 1 team year after year.

  10. I don't think many of us will be able to sleep very well for a while. Atleast the last two years the clawed back to make it a game. This year they just fell flat. This has to be one of the worst feelings I have ever had as a Sioux fan. Oh well up again tommorow and looking out to who we can sign, who stays, etc..

We will all be back next year.

    BD

Haha, I guess since I am from Colorado, I still have the Avs!! Uh oh, should I have not said that here? My bad!! :D

  11. Frustrated. Now THAT I understand.

Yes...it is frustrating to be "there" 4 times and not bring home the hardware.

Like you, I want them to win it "all" every year. And also like you, I bleed Sioux Green.

    Go SIOUX!!!

Yeah thanks! I am a little more calmed down now that Notre Dame is up 3-0! :D

  12. I apologize if I misunderstood. My point is that the current staff is about as good as it gets IMO. They bring in good talent every year and they coach that talent up to a consistently high level. And occasionaly they sign a very top end talent. Also, they have not recruited a top end kid who was a one and done. That is becoming a nice bonus for UND and I have to think it is because of the work the coaches do behind the scenes creating the team atmosphere, etc..

    BD

Its allright. But your right though. I am just frustrated about all 4 years

  13. I'm with you on that one. I was stunned we couldn't generate ANY offense in that one.

Tonight, well...I'll say this for BC. They scouted JP's 5-hole very well. If you look at the first period shots, that was the only place they were shooting. They picked it as his achilles' heel, and it paid off for them. By the time they scored their 2 on 1, it was all over but the final score. Sadly.

But....that does NOT mean the difference was coaching alone. There were a lot of bounces in there that just didn't fly. Had the Sioux not just banged the pipe at 6 min in,(and tied it) but put one home...it may have been a totally different game.

However....it is what it is. Tonight is done. Next year awaits.

    Change coaching staff?

    Puhleeze.

I wouldn't trade Hakstol and Eades for Scotty Bowman.

    And do you know WHY?:D

    Ask yourself this....

    WHAT COLOR DO THEY BLEED???

Ok, I am sorry, you got me. I guess I am just frustrated. And to your question, Sioux Green.

  14. No. This year BC beat us with speed and intuition.

Last year an unfortunate check by Finley on Gerbe (I think...well anyways a short guy) cost us that one. The year previous to that we played poor defensively but was a very young team.

The only "shoulda" was the 1-0 loss to DU, imo.

Yes you named all game changers, but how have BC come out every year? All 3 years they came out flying, and dominated the control of the puck.

  15. Oh really. Well I will bet that you don't know when any of the three I listed were recruited. Go to Chris Hs site and see if you can find the 2004/2005 list and send back your response. The answer is that Hak recruited them. So your point was what Buddy?

    BD

Ok obviously you did not understand my response. Im not even going to try to explain

  16. A. Learn to spell.

    B. Understand that 4 appearances in the FF doesn't guarantee a single win.

    C. York has lost FF games to 3 different teams in 3 years. Think BC is considering firing him?

    D. NHL plays best of 7 series in the playoffs for a REASON. THIS is the REASON.

    E. Agreed with you, York brought players better prepared to exploit the other teams weakness. Again.

    F. Again, consider that without getting TO the FF, the Sioux never have a CHANCE at playing on Saturday.

    G. We'll be back. And after that, we'll be back again.

    H. And yet again.

I'll drink a toast to #11 before the end of my days, and like it. And if Hakstol and Eades are coaching that game, I'll be just fine with that.

But I'm sure you'll still find a reason to complain that it isn't #12.

    :D

    Good for you

  17. No. I'm not kidding. I saw a loaded-for-bear 81 team go nowhere. And an 84 team. A 98 team. A 99 team. And a 2001 team missed their chance. And there were others...remember 79?

Talent and coaching will get you so far...but even the '84 Oilers lost a few.

Yes I remember all of them. Heck Michigan is losing right now. There are always upsets and dissapointments. But after 3 years we cant beat the same team that has beaten us the same way every year in the same game?? And a campionship after 4 straight

  18. Hak inherited the team that had just lost Zach and Bo to the pros after losing 1-0 in CC to Denver. There were alot of good players left from Blais but Hak & Co added some very nice players (Toews, Oshie, Duncan, etc..).

    BD

A player is actually recruited a lot before they actually sign a letter of intent buddy

  19. Please! :D

Just join in and fry the guy. He's going to go pro anyways and it will make you feel better!

(dripping sarcasm, siouxnami. Seriously, I agree with you 100%)

Yes he will go pro. I think he really came around. But mark my word, he will never make it past the 3rd d line with the speed of the NHL. I dont know how wwe didnt see that coming against BC.

  20. :D

No disrespect intended, but .... get stuffed.

It's a helluva lot harder to win a national title than you think. Single elimination tournaments are rolls of the dice. Sure, coaching is part of it, but so is luck.

    Think about it.

Then think about how many teams never even GET CLOSE to the frozen four. THEN sit back and think that BC has been three and out in the last four years too.

These guys worked their asses off all season...some of them for four seasons in a row. and that includes the coaching staff. It's apparent to me you have no idea what goes into a college hockey season, front to back.

100+ wins in 4 years? 4 frozen fours out of 4 seasons?

    So then...

Sit down. Shut up. And keep your la-z-boy coaching antics between you and your remote control.

Not that Hakstol or Eades need anyone to get their backs...but I'm there for any of 'em.

    GO SIOUX!

How about you sit sown shut up and enjoy the 0 banners risen in 4 years that we were the last 4 teams. I'm no math major but....yeah

  21. :D

IN 4 STRAIGHT FROZEN FOURS with the talent we have had? You have got to be kidding me!!!
