  1. Screw the reviews. You don't need reviews and complaints to the refs if you put your opponents away, and don't let them linger. I'm surprised he isn't blaming the ice, wrong tape on the blades, curvature of the Earth, or whatever. Typical. ???

Dude get The FFFF off the bandwagon if u want

  2. I like the idea of all 4 playing each other... Great rivalries, bordering states, all similiar universities. Plus, short travel (helps w/ expenses)& can generate a lot of regional insterest. Hopefully this can all happen in a few years if UND & USD can get into the MVFC eventually. Or even playing non-conf games between the 4.

Obviously, playing for the Nickel is very important. Seems like the Dakota Marker trophy has also helped increase the rivalry between the SU's. UND & USD played for the Sitting Bull trophy until 1999, when it was retired for PC reasons. I'd like to see a new trophy started for the SIoux-Yotes game.

I'm not sure a traveling trophy between the 4 is too feasible, but if it could happen I'm all for it... anything to get these rivalries renewed again.

And the fact that it makes too much sense for them not to play.

  3. wiercioch is a flat out player! kids dam good. if they are both out for the whole weekend lets hope the sioux can take advantage

I wouldn't expect to see Cheverie or Wiercioch this weekend but thats just me reading between the lines.

  4. Again from what I was told last night, neither of those two made the call at all, Poppa Shep did from the press box. But that is just what I was told.

    The linesman made the call.

  5. Basically what you are saying, if our football team was 0-11 every year, you would be fine with that as long as all of them were pulling 4.0 averages in the classroom and were reading to 1st graders every Friday morning? Sorry, but this isn't the FBS Ivy League, the FCS Pioneer League or the D-II version of Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. This is the University of North Dakota, where excellence in both academics and athletics is cherished and expected. Our Student-Athletes do a great job in the classroom and in the community, as well as in bringing home championships (both conference and national). Are they perfect? No (nobody is), but it's a false choice to suggest that you can't have excellence in both the athletic arena and in the classroom. It's just as much of a false choice as the false choice between hockey and football, but that's another topic.

This is not meant to be personal or anything (you are an intelligent poster with good insights on things), but I think you should either promote joining the Pioneer League as a non-scholarship FCS program or rethink the low expectations you have for the football program (which is the reason we moved up in the first place).

    I like this post

  6. Haven't the Badgers been getting a ton of shots against everyone this year? They have 31 right now halfway thru the second.

Theres also been a lot of blocked and missed shots so I wonder how high their attempted is gonna be at the end of this game.
